My friend and fellow musician, Lenon, passed away in September of 2019. At the time, I was not motivated to write songs due to a lot of self-doubt as a musician. Lenon was an avid songwriter and fearlessly shared his songs with anyone who would listen--he taught me that I needed to do the same. Though his passing was devastating, it was the kick in the ass that I needed. This was the first song I had written in a long time, and I haven't stopped writing since.

Starting writing this song the day that Amy Coney Barrett became a Supreme Court justice and finished it on day three of the 2020 election. This is probably the most honest song I've ever written, it's really just my thoughts and feelings. It's a reminder to myself that life can really suck sometimes, but I've got to hold onto the little things that give me true joy.
