This is the fifth stand-alone EP from him for Electric Deluxe, on top of his last LP ‘Comedy Of Menace,’ and offers three more exquisite samples of what the techno veteran does best. Almost a counter-point to Fixmer’s last EDLX release-the dubby, warmed through ‘When The Sun’ EP-’Bells’ is a homage to the pitch black dance floors of the night, with all his hypnotism and industrial hues in place. “Bells” opens right in the thick of it, with alarm knells and viscous vapours swirling round a lasso loop that will hook you until sunrise. “In Chains” is it’s raw cousin-just as dark, unsettled, and riled with analogue sounds. But as midnight begins to dip into eternity, closer “Subspace Two” offers up a lasting sunny reprieve. Following Leitmotiv, the debut album of Berlins new dynamic duo Puresque, Tresor Records is proud to present a set of remixes of the albums main titles. Enrolled on remix duties are none other than The Black Dog, Cari Lekebusch, Terence Fixmer and Petar Dundov. An international selection, gathering some of the Techno scenes most talented players - all of whom have performed at Tresor, during Puresques monthly event Puresque im Keller over the last months.

Techno was inevitable for the Zenker Brothers. Eldest brother Dario cottoned on first, using his family ties to Munich’s infamous Ultraschall club to edge into the DJ booth as an enthu- siastic teen. Following its demise he migrated to Harry Klein with the rest of the Ultraschall crew, picking up a residency in 2006 that has only just been brought to a close. It was at this stage Marco received his own electronic awakening. Inspired by a set of his brother’s at the very same institution, he joined Dario there a year later. Production-wise, however, the brothers continued to pursue separate paths: Dario sewing an assortment of seeds and racking up a wayfaring collec- tion of records for labels like Frozen Border, Vakant, Time To Express and Traut Muzik. Meanwhile Marco was cultivating deep and dreamy techno on the Zenkers’ own Ilian Tape stable.

After years of playing and working together side by side, in 2011 they emerged in official collaboration as Zenker Brothers with ‘Berg 10 EP’. Now, the Zenker Brothers are back with their first release for Tresor, brandishing a matured sound and level of sensitivity yet displayed by either before. ‘Lion In Mars’ is like a fresh breeze billowing through the Tresor vaults. Honing in on signa- tures from the archive and repackaging them in modern sentiment, here Zenker Brothers deliver a record that gleans through the generations to deliver a cunning symbiosis of techno future, past and present. On the A-side “Knighthof” and “The Future Is You” offer driving vintage basement techno with a Zenker twist, whilst B-side tracks “Davin” and “Cosmilian”, the EP’s clattering dystopic closer, blend Detroit tones together with their respective Ilian-proven pallets.

This special Planete Rouge EP series kicks off with the re-release of two classic tracks taken from Terence Fixmer’s first album ‘Muscle Machine’, which was originally released on DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolo Records in 2001. 

This acclaimed debut album spearheaded the fusion of modern techno and EBM. In particular the tracks ‘Warm’ and ‘Rage’ both combined the raw and dark atmosphere of EBM with the energy of driving techno. 

On ‘Relapse Volume 1’ the re-mastered original versions of these two tracks are accompanied by remixes from Sandwell District’s Regis and Planete Rouge’s own Alexey Volkov. 

Regis (Karl O’Connor) hands in a sinister, looped-up version of ‘Warm’ replete with ghostly samples and a dizzying groove, while Alexey Volkov turns his hand to ‘Rage’ delivering a deep, thumping remix that plays with frequencies and a squelching bass.
