Jounda Strong is a local artist whose growing portfolio of work includes original mixed media paintings, found object art, watercolor and acrylics. Self-taught, her work is filled with depth using textures, layers and colors. By allowing a story to unfold, Jounda's art is a reflection of life as she sees it. 

Using inspiration from the journey of life, Jounda's work tells stories of love, pain, goodness, and heartbreak. She believes each piece is part of her perception of life and a story directly from her soul. Her mission is to allow her soul and inner child to bring forth stories that need to be told and in the process, inspire others to do the same. 

Jounda believes art is to be found everywhere in life. Her Painting Through Recovery workshop is designed to help her students look for and see beauty and significance in the healing process of addiction and recovery. She says, "Art is not a matter of competition with others, but a journey of self-discovery and healing for each person."

With a BS in psychology, life experience with addiction and recovery, and 20+ years as a corporate leader and trainer, Jounda intends to guide others through the process of telling their stories of recovery by the simple act of creating.
