Journeyman are a new production duo from London. Formed at the end of 2012 they moved straight into the spotlight with their killer remix of Drum & Bass anthem Carry Me On by Brookes Brothers feat. Chrom3, earning them specialist support from the likes of B.Traits and Andy Durrant.

Journeyman are now set to make their full artist debut on NewState Music, with the release of double a-side single: Get Closer / Sideways. 

Kicking off proceedings is ‘Get Closer’, an immersive slice of future house music, featuring the sultry vocals of Claudia Georgette. This classy track fuses some of their influences, which range from soul and jazz to classical, resulting in this top-notch production.

Sideways is a weightier house workout that heads straight to the club. This banger features further trademark bleeps, cut up chanting vocals, and one of the best basslines you’ll hear this year!

Both tracks come with radio, club, and instrumental mixes.

Formed by a combination of an old friendship and a passion for music, the duo took their production name from the old boxing term ‘Journeyman’.

Under various guises, Journeyman have already achieved success in other electronic genres, racking up playlist support on Radio 1 & 1Xtra and playing to masses of fans at festivals, and clubs all over the globe. 

This level of musical experience and maturity is highlighted and reflected in the Journeyman sound: it has warmth, depth, and does damage on the dancefloor. 

This debut release is set to be a future classic, with the enigmatic Journeyman poised to become one of the most exciting new forces in the house music scene.

'Weiss City Vol 1' showcases this producers vast talent by embracing house music's rich heritage with deep jacking grooves, warm rumbling subs, sweet sharp percussion and delicate vocal treatment. Leading the EP. 'You Treat Me Right' sets the tone with an infectious guitar lick and impassioned vocals on top of a driving but deep bass line. "Clara EP is three tracks that have been circling around various hard drives for nearly the past 4 years. It’s one of those ones where you just have to sit and wait until the time is right, and certain demos and ideas all seem to cohesively come together at the very last moment. 
Some of you that have listened to my mixtape series will recognise ‘Gaia (Nuevo Comienzo) as the start track from RC:1, which has had an extra tickle since then. Wildflower and Clara have been floating around in various forms and under various titles for a long time, but I couldn’t be happier for them to finally be out in the world. 
Although the last few releases have been varied, and more explorative, this EP is just a reminder of that feeling I had when I first started making music. Essentially it’s what I love, loads and loads of melody, hands in the air moments and super warm grooves. Music that embraces all and makes you smile.
I hope you enjoy, go grab a gin and tonic and listen and as a whole.

'Spend It All / Constellation / In the Dark', their forthcoming EP will be released through AnjunaDeep at the beginning of April and will further enhance their reputation as ones to watch in 2014.
