BSV: Hello Sinan! Label boss Roberto Pedoto (@roberto-pedoto) announced one big name on Summer Sampler in 2019. That was you. My track was in that compilation too and that was the first time that I met your music. Do you miss 9th Chord Recordings? 
SINAN KAYA:  Hey Marko! Of course I miss him! I remember that I already wrote him few months ago! Roberto and I met before ‘9th Chord Recordings’ actually... We worked for 3 tracks EP almost 5 years ago for his "Pops & Crackles Recordings". We released “Nobody’s Business EP” which included 3 easy listening Chicago house tracks by me. I still have samples on my SoundCloud but I see that he is planning something different for the future because I can’t find them on stores! :)  and also he released my remix for @portofinosunrise - "Poesiè”, I'm still receiving great feedback for it, so, Roberto, hope you are ok my friend! Thanks for everything!

BSV: Listening to your originals makes it hard to extract favorite tracks. Songs are just perfect. What’s the recipe for this hyper quality production? 
SINAN KAYA:  Thanks for kind words. There are two points I pay attention to, I don’t like to make popular sounds and the other one is I can’t go away from the roots. Just bringing the elements together by my language to make House Music. 

BSV: Chicago house music as inspiration? 
SINAN KAYA: Not only! Classic house, UK Garage, Italo-Disco, Funk and it’s going back to Soul, Blues, Gospel… Chicago House is a great destination that can include elements from all of them. 

BSV: This mixtape made us dance. Did you use all current “corona” favs into it? 
SINAN KAYA: Can’t say that there are my all current corona favs. Fu*kin corona took too much time already, what ever... I won’t talk about that. I am actually recording mixtapes for my weekly radio show, named by my old friend: ’’Stereo Flavas’’. So I’m already mixing my weekly favs every Friday night for Istanbul based Radio Glamorize.  But I should say this mixtape was just a bit more uplifting, but funky like always! I hope those who listen also like it... 

BSV: 2 LP’s and one album as a promo material... Always so generous to your fans? 
SINAN KAYA: Ah, it’s a bit complicated. I'm releasing music since 2009 and there were two albums and a few LP's as I remember. One of these: “Punch and Bloom” which I made at the beginning of the “Gezi Park Protests” and the other one is “Deep Inside”, has many flavours of deep house music... It's so nice to meet many great artists and labels in this way. I gave a track to Skylax Records for a vinyl compilation by DJ Sprinkles / Hardrock Striker, 6 trax from @apparel-music, @sub_urbanofficial, Kolour, @moissmusic and more and will come more of course! 

BSV: What would be Sinan Kaya’s “dreams come true” record label? 
SINAN KAYA: I have many fav labels and I like to play their sounds but I’m not dreaming to become a part of a label. I’m not focusing to a label when I’m making music. Not sending demos since many years, just publishing a few unsigned music on my social media accounts and if someone wants to make release with me, just need to get in touch with me...

BSV: How would you introduce Turkish electronic music scene? 
SINAN KAYA: We have many great artists! Like my big inspiration @sarpyilmaz, you should check out @tufan-demir also... In the techno scene @ugurproject... It’s hard to explain in a few sentences... I remember that there was an “Istanbul Sound” like Berlin, Ibiza etc. I know that mainstream artists who come to perform here prepare special sets for Istanbul... First of all, we still have a big trouble that is effecting whole life in Turkey, but it's close... I believe that we are so close to "Brighter Days" (🥂Cajmere).

Great big thanks to Bitzone for reaching out and inspiring me to make music with him. He has been very patient with my process and generous with his creativity. He is a real cool guy and I am lucky to get to know him better. Lyrics and vocals only come out of me if the music's and my muses can make love with each other. 

The cold long overcast winters of the Pacific Northwest Portland Oregon area and the current nature of my work have affected me differently than the Sunny California positive vibing Bay Area. Therefor, I see life differently and my soul says different things. But the late spring and summer is alive with color and joyous with energy over here, making me more well rounded.

Bitzone and the Couch King - I Don't Owe Ya

Here is a further collaboration with Special Cecilia. It started this time that I tried to combine her voice with a clean guitar with much echo, which already sounded excellent and gave the whole thing already a special direction to the powerful refrain, which came with the drums. And a song needs strong and well sounding drums, it brings the groove and the feel. The multidimensional refrain was originally planned only to consist of voice, drums bass and many many synths, but then by coincidence I found the nice chords on the eclectic guitar and the very challenging riff at the refrain of the end, where I had to train the fingers until it became as desired. Overall this song wouldn‘t exist without Cecilia’s initial ideas for vocals, which were enabling all the further inspiration for all the music you are hearing here.
I hope that you will embarque to the journey and enjoy it the same way as I do when I hear it. I have tried to get the text amplified so that you get really an impression that „life is so multidimensional“.

BSV: Hello Kay! What’s going on @ Ibiza? Has the island experienced some changes due to recent virus?
KAY BAUHER: Hi pal! It's so sad now here. It's expensive to live in Ibiza. But I'm involved with the life here. I'm doing my best.

BSV: Life on the island as much exciting as parties in famous clubs? What are you doing for living currently?
KAY BAUHER: I'm a butcher now. Butchery takes a lot of my time. I only have one day off a week. This day I used to spread some positive vibrations through my favorite tracks. Hope you gonna enjoy it!

BSV: If we translate the last word of your stage name, we come to a certain German term. What can you tell us about your nickname?
KAY BAUHER: My artistic name reflects my musical style. That is partly inspired by German techno and partly fruit of my mind.

BSV: Does techno sound define you as an artist?
KAY BAUHER: No. I flew around music from a lot of years. I was a metal drummer and I played for eight years the drum before contact with “electronic” music. I can arrange piano, guitar, drum of course, percussions, bass and many more machines. I still want to play each of these Instruments in my life.

BSV: You thrilled me with vocal processing in the ''Groovy Soul'' remix. What hardware do you use in production?
KAY BAUHER: Bypass Access Indigo 2

BSV: When can we expect your new releases? Do you have some ideas already?
KAY BAUHER: Soon as possible. Secret project….

BSV: How was this mix recorded?
KAY BAUHER: Vinyl and Traktor one DD6 bypassed at Kay Bauher’s home.

BSV SESSION 010 I KAY BAUHER

Strawberry City born, DJ & cryptocurrency trader - Drumsta (@drumsta) with episode 013. Interview below:

BSV: Hi Masta, how are you today? I guess that you have no problem with the number of this episode. Are you superstitious?
DRUMSTA: Haha, I wasn’t aware of it, but no I’m not. I believe people create their own luck and it all depends on one’s mindset. If you think positively, you will attract positive things. 

BSV: There is a lot of musical diversity on your channel. How do you explain the connection between Drum and Bass and Techno music?
DRUMSTA: Great question. Regarding diversity, I’ve been always listening to all genres that give me that sense and feeling of greatness, like I am larger than this material existence. So I use music to evoke that feeling inside of me and Drum and Bass was always my first go-to. However, it depends on the subtleties of my current state and the context I am in, which dictates where am I going to look for. But considering the connection between DnB and Techno, I would have to say it’s the love for deep and growly bass produces on oscillators. I think that those frequencies I resonate with the most. That’s why only this certain type of Techno work for me - industrial, raw, acid...

BSV: We are from the same (small) town and you convinced us all with your organizational skills, from AKC to Radio Volt. Where are you now? Are you planning some new projects in near future?
DRUMSTA: I am always on the move and I love producing, meaning materializing ideas. That translates to music but more importantly to projects that have an impact on the world. Currently I live in Belgrade and I’m considering some short-term projects. We are now in the process of opening a studio here for Radio Volt, so you can expect a re-launch very soon. 

BSV: How frustrating is it when the hard drive crashes with all upcoming projects inside?
DRUMSTA: Lol. It is, but I don’t let those things get to me. That’s life. Nothing is forever and some things die before others, especially in the case of hard drives. In all seriousness, if you get attached to your possessions you will always struggle to maintain them and I don’t want to lose my energy on that. Instead, I am forward-looking.  

BSV: Does music help you to overcome stress while trading on the market?
DRUMSTA: Oddly enough, music doesn’t play a part in my trading. I like to keep it quiet and focused on my activity. But when I make some wins I blast off something to celebrate.  

BSV: Your mix is a real energy bomb. Did you drink red bull during the recording?
DRUMSTA: As I said, I look for energy in music and that feeling of power. For me listening to music is a relationship - you are always getting something from it. So I don’t have to drink energy drinks to produce an energetic mix, the songs create that halo effect that amplifies my state, which is translated to the mix. 

BSV: Plug-ins that you used for boosting the mixtape? It’s very well compressed.
DRUMSTA: I dress to compress what can I say. When people master their tracks they have to ask themselves: did they master themselves first? So, back to your question, I used a standard multiband compressor, but if you know what you want to achieve you can do it with any tool.
