Tripeo is feeling a bit more angry on his Fourth Trip. Probably due to massive lay-overs and delays. Untitled #7 and #8 are two industrial cuts with extreme synth- and FX-programming to maximize dancefloor devastation. Only meant to be played out LOUD.

This series is VINYL ONLY, and yes: that really means NO digital release.

“I've intended to do an album for a long while. The tracks draw upon ideas going back to various points over the last 12 years or so - some of the hooks I wrote years ago other bits are brand new. In some ways I wanted it to reflect a personal arc and the way I tend to do things  - never rushed”

‘Frames of Reference’ is the some 12 years in the making debut album from UK based techno producer Ø [Phase].

Best known by his work on the Belgium based Token Records his style ranges from gritty minimal techno to Detroit influenced material. His debut ‘Module Overload’ was released on London’s Lost/Cosmic records in 2000 and was followed by a string of productions for London's Surface/Inceptive Records and Ben Sims Ingoma imprint.

The move to Token came in 2007, he shortly after began DJing professionally and has since performed at parties across the globe whilst becoming a regular guest at Berlin’s techno Mecca, Berghain performing alongside esteemed peers and supporters such as Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki and Ben Klock. His continued works have seen constant support throughout the techno world and have featured in CD mixes by Robert Hood, Dave Clarke, François Kevorkian and Fumiya Tanaka amongst others. Alongside his production work Ø [Phase] is also a mastering engineer and on/off artwork designer. Starting out at London’s prestigious Sony Music/Whitfield Street Studios, he has cut records for numerous underground dance acts as well as working on projects for mainstream artists.

Now after a string of acclaimed releases on Token and a selection of remixes for the likes of Robert Hood, Mark Broom and Peter Van Hoesen comes Ø [Phase]’s debut long-player ‘Frames of Reference’. Opening with the brooding and building swirl of ‘Binary Opposition (Process 3)’ Ø [Phase] sets out his template of evolving, richly textured atmospheres underpinned by shards of dark and light. ‘The Bwiti Initiate’ revolves around a bouncing techno rhythm that could most certainly traverse the house/techno divide whilst ‘Distracted’ and ‘Misaligned’ are the kind of unadulterated, pummeling, cavernous techno tracks that have made Lost such a party institution.
Then we have tracks like the soft beating ‘Just Another Dance’ providing a lighter edge, embellished with warmth and strings and the thick, densely woven tapestry of ‘Shadow Caster’ which goes from experimental to dancefloor and back again with consummate ease. The off-kilter lilt of ‘Perplexed’ drags us further into the dark before keys and a hint of a melody draw us back upwards for air whilst the fat driving bass of ‘Dirtro II’ and funkier edged menace of ‘On The Edge’ show a virtuoso producer at the top of his game. The closing introspection of ‘Self Deceit’ wallows in subtle nuances before a mid section synth and string intervention pulls us back from the brink before finally descending into the void.

For the last 3 years, Dreaming Vinyl have been operating as a motion graphics studio and music discovery platform; where they reimagine a variety of their favourite records in the form of animated vinyl stickers. Their studio have been commissioned from the likes of XL Recordings, Blue Note, Rhythm Section, Anz & EGLO Records + more.

This year Dreaming Vinyl launch their label: DV Records, kicking it all off by celebrating 9 exciting electronic dance tracks for their V/A charity release. The 9 compilation tracks are paired with 9 visualisers, designed and animated by the Dreaming Vinyl co-founders, who have a deep interest in audio-visual relationships. The compilation features talent from the likes of Elphin, LUXE, Impey, Herman, DJ ojo, Sister Zo, GoodMostlyBad, Ikävä Pii, and Tim Reaper.

The debut compilation explores a CD release raising money for MAP Charity. MAP Charity is an alternative education provider working with young people in Leeds who are unable to access the mainstream school system. Young people access empowering music and arts qualifications and opportunities to professional pathways at their home, Hope Foundry is also home to MAP Charity's in-house fundraising event Cosmic Slop - where resident and guest DJs play records through a unique custom-built soundsystem and 100% of the funds raised goes towards supporting the education programme.

We are thrilled to release a new 10 track compilation, 'fabric SELECTS II'. The project is a curated release celebrating bass music past and and present, arriving today on our new imprint for new music, fabric Originals. 

In addition to two singles already out ahead of the full compilation release – Skream’s remarkable return to dubstep ‘Summoned’ and emerging UK producer LUXE’s tension-filled ‘Duality’ – the compilation features original music from Le Motel & Flowdan, dBridge, Al Wootton, Neil Landstrumm and more. After SELECTS I’s techno compilation, SELECTS II puts focus on bass, featuring a host of the scene’s most creative and forward-thinking producers and stakes claim as fabric’s vision on what the future of the genre could sound like. 

Iconic figures in the bass music scene such as dBridge have contributed tracks. With a long-standing relationship with both fabric and FABRICLIVE club nights dBridge is a perfect fit for the fabric Originals debut bass compilation. His track ‘Ecstatic Madness’ exhibits the artist’s linchpin status in the scene perfectly; an atmospheric drum and bass track with haunting and immersive tones taking the listener through a deep bassline, intricate drums, and an evolving sense of impeding – yet welcome – danger. 


Elsewhere, “Wild Guide” brings the formidable East London grime MC Flowdan together with Brussels-based DJ and producer Le Motel for a gritty and glitchy production that sees Flowdan’s lyrical prowess come back “like-a-bad-habit” full force in the centre of the compilation, underpinned by Le Motel’s pin-point and intricately layered production. 


Meanwhile emerging and new-scene producers and creators such as Ehua, with the almost-glacial and growing ‘Gaida’, Kessler who follows Ehua by kicking it up a notch on ‘Simma’, and Bluetoof, whose penultimate track on the project ‘Inverted’ upends our expectations through subtle layers in the bassline and a consistent driving intensity, all work to ground the narrative of the project. 

Harriet Bliss of fabric Records, explains the curation of fabric SELECTS II: “With this compilation fabric are aiming to take on the future of bass music through an amalgamation of sounds that live in different spheres but marry together cohesively. From the club’s heritage sound in drum and bass, to slower tempos in techno, all complimented by London's seminal dubstep influence. These tracks carry the main theme of bass, paying homage to London's sound-system culture."
