I once had a dream that I was a soul flying around a giant orb in space. It was bright white and yellow and glowing, like the sun if it was pure light and not fire. There were other souls flying around this mass of light. When I was ready, I entered & joined back into the orb.

And then I opened my eyes to people over me, a beige ceiling and crib walls around me. There could have been light and soft wind filtering through a white window curtain. It was warm. I was alive.

Luuk van Dijk has unveiled his hotly-anticipated debut album First Contact, out 11th November on his own Dark Side Of The Sun label.

Last year I completed a body of soundtrack works in association with the aerial arts company, A-WOL. Today I released the second installment of that music in a song titled, "Passerines" (The first being "Circling The Drain). It's a kind of mangled up, granulated piano melody that sings throughout the whole song and ends up in a dancy, flowing uptempo kind of leftfield bass thing. It's hard to describe but I loved working on this and it gave me direction on the rest of the project as it was the first piece finished for the nearly 1-hour collection. The rest will be available to stream/purchase within the month and I really hope you enjoy the sounds. Thank you always for your support.
