A collection of more mellow and emotive instrumentals. From music to inspire a film score to solo piano pieces and improvisation.

I made most of these in 2020. I didn't make much dance music that year. The last track (Sonderfly V1) is one of the first piano improvisations I happened to record. I was in such a deep flow state, that somehow, I gave life to so many musical babies that directly relate to moments in this improvisation session. It's like the improv sesh that just keeps giving.

I'm grateful that I allowed myself the time to play freely that night.

I woke up with the seeds of this melody floating away from a nearby dream. I went to the piano and this arrangement of it was the result.

I fell in love with ODESZA after watching their performance at a festival last week—the last track they played stuck with me, but sadly the version they played is not an officially released track. Here's the incredibly moving live rendition of "It's Only".

after listening to "Trance Frendz" by Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds, i was inspired to record an improvisation on my keyboard. and by improvisation i mean "play some basic minor chords. make mistakes. repeat pretty parts. repeat."

there's are a couple of surprisingly nice moments, and also plenty of pauses, hiccups, and slips of the finger. mistakes and imperfections are all part of the process of learning and growing, and in the case of this improvisation, some of the "wrong" notes i hit ended up leading me to places i wasn't expecting :]. so i left them all in.

as an ongoing experiment, i plan on playing around with bits and pieces and uploading them as a new variation.
