Here we meet again,
for our stroll
around the lake.
A walk like
all the
hundreds, thousands
we had before.

My lifelong friend,
companion,
witness of my life,
mirror of my thoughts -
how good
to walk with you
around the lake.

We walk,
and talk.
That’s what we do.

This lake
is now imprinted
with our stories, insights,
laughter and pains.
He knows us better
than we know
ourselves.

Are we wiser?
Happier?
Did we find the keys,
the codes,
the answers?
We found some,
some found us,
many we lost again.

This afternoon,
we walk again
around the lake.
Now bordered
with trees
in autumn clothes.

This lake is
our third companion.
Like us,
he’s always changing,
and yet he stays the same.
