The return of time travelling disco afficionados Space Echo is immanent, and their 3rd contribution to the Luv Shack catalogue is a very special one indeed. The three tracks on the 'Rare Function EP' are boasting with dusty 70s blues magic!

The first track 'Go Down' is somewhat more akin to earlier Space Echo tracks, with a disco loop that steadily builds in the background, funky house drumming and a big beefy bassline. However the gospel vocals and the evolving synth strings in the second break take ' Go Down' to another level of dancefloor goodness.

'Rare Function' sees Space Echo take a moody excursion into southern funk. With an insanely addictive rhodes hook, shimmering strings and a soothing vocal line that hits right in the guts, this piece is well suited to liven up any house set.

The final track is called 'Rainbow Power' and its probably the most uncanny Space Echo track to date. Its a full on party rendition of a lesser known early 70s funk piece that just blasts off after being introduced to a fat acid line!

The EP is a testament to the musical development of the Space Echo project and we're excited to hear what the future holds.

Having heard the baggy psychedelic beauty that is ʻRushing Through My Mindʼ on Lauren Laverneʼs 6Music show, we thought we could do a number on it. Turn it into a psychedelic disco record (with added meatballs). We think we managed it, reliving the rushy highs from indie-danceʼs finest moments of 1991.

For those of you unaware of the splendid Swedish rockersʼ groovy workings, they have already released two albums, debut Horse Dance in 2015 and last yearʼs excellent Mirage, from which the ecstatic ʻRushing...ʼ comes.

The release comes on Joe Bugner-style heavyweight vinyl (180g) complete with Instrumental and Radio Edit. Mang Dynasty is Ray Mang and Bill Brewster.

Just in time to warm up your winter, Hell Yeah revisit the peerless recent Tsuki album from ambient and Balearic masters Tempelhof & Gigi Masin. 

It is Corner Song that gets remixed by Good Timin’ and Running Back man Jex Opolis. Famous for his disco infused synth pop sound he is a master of his own musical world. His version is eight minutes of laid-back tropicalia. Slowly churning drums and knotted funk-bass prop it up as an eco-system of pops, clicks and hits add to the steamy and sensuous groove.

Having released the album Kalba to huge critical acclaim, Wah Wah 45s are now ready to unleash the next stage of this unique cross-continental project, fronted by Ghanain xylophonist Isaac Birituro and Leeds based sing-songwriter and Grammy nominated producer Sonny Johns, AKA The Rail Abandon. Their debut album caused something of a stir this year, with Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews and many more showing it the love it deserves. Even though the album has plenty of club friendly moments, the label decided to let some of their favourite producers give you their own interpretations of this landmark album for Wah Wah 45s.
