Still keeping things weighty, Alan’s remix leads with pads and four to the floor drums that envelope out into an anthemic emotive cut that manages to retain all the goodness of the original.

Announced as finalists in MTV’s Brand New competition, Godwolf bump up the BPM and sidechain with their signature chillwave. Off the back of their remix for Lanks, Godwolf are on a roll right now.
 
After support from Indie Shuffle and Hilly Dilly for his recent EP, Oscilla whip up a great groove on their remix, which you may hear as he supports Kllo in Adelaide at the end of the month. Freddie Norwood of Untzz Records and house imprint Tsuba (Andhim, Oliver Dollar, Jimpster, Tim Sweeney) delves deep into the realms of house for his 120BPM groover

And last but not least we are proud to introduce a very special remix from relative unknown, Cloudy Future. His recent EP, shared by Stoney Roads is traditional chill, and his remix for Flamingo is perfectly paired with Kacee’s floaty vocals and its oceanic pulse. We cannot wait to hear more from Cloudy Future.
 
In support of "At Sea", the band will hit up the east coast of Australia for a series of energetic live shows. Joining them will be national tour support and triple j Unearthed High finalists Lastlings, a brother / sister electronic duo out of Sydney and a slew of local supports below.

On his new album, I Have What I Gave, out October 6th on 2MR, Italian musician https://soundcloud.com/bottin outdoes himself. He crafts propulsive, disco-laden scores for films not yet made, and introspective, mind-expanding cuts designed to ensure that people who want to dance never get caught up in conventional experiences.

Each moment with Bottin is a memorable one. There’s the hypnotic, pop-disco cut “Y-A-M-L,” featuring past collaborator Lavinia Claws on vocals. It existed in parts for a decade before coming together during the sessions for this album. It’s an energetic and transcendent affair. And don’t forget the influence films have always had on Bottin.

“L’Amore” has a foundation that recalls the cascading minimalism of Steve Reich and the cinematic work of the likes of Howard Shore. By the time the beat comes in, it’s pretty clear this is no mere exercise in routine nu-disco. This is Bottin, the composer. Another cut that proves Bottin should be scoring films is “Varosha,” with its dark, arena-sized John Carpenter vibes that traffic in dystopia to balance out the bubbling optimism of “L’Amore.”

The record's quest extends back in time on "Perfect Mind," featuring words from the ancient Greek prayer, "The Thunder, The Perfect Mind," found amid the famous Nag Hammadi texts in Egypt in 1945. Over a pulsating, acidy backdrop the words are delivered through various vocal synthesis engines, reflecting Bottin's intent to evoke a cold, artificially intelligent singularity discussing the most human of matters.

All throughout an album filled with intricate and nuanced arrangements, Bottin doesn’t forget to keep people moving. There’s “Stellar Parade,” another in a line of great collaborations with legendary Italian electronic musician Alexander Robotnick. There’s also “Twenty-three,” an organic-sounding arp bath that perfectly channels the tension that builds over the course of a night. Bottin’s work as one-half of experimental synth outfit Deardrums rubs off on “Microdisco,” which is fat with pulsating analogue synths and resonant beat experimentations.

One thing that sets I Have What I Gave apart from his pioneering Horror Disco and much-loved Punica Fides LPs is that this time around Bottin didn’t see to it to create a concept-album structure. Everything came at once during the writing and recording process, which no doubt gives the album its intensity and sense of immediacy. “This album came about as a stream of musical consciousness,” Bottin says. “I worked on all the tracks simultaneously — not one at a time as I normally do.”

But even if the album didn’t come about in a series of tightly crafted experiments, it doesn’t sound messy or chaotic. It’s just the opposite. Bottin has managed to take bits and pieces of sounds, some short loops and orphaned arpeggios, and a handful of vocal samples, and put them together into an album that unifies 10 songs of divergent trajectories into an outstanding body of work that absolutely kills. 

If, as the record’s title suggests, Bottin has what he gives, then he’s in a good place. After giving people the experience of this album, the hard-working, always traveling artist will have a thankful, welcoming audience all over the world.

With a string of club-focused hit records on Exploited Records, the Vienna-Berlin based DJ and producer Joyce Muniz has been a driving force in European dance music since exploding onto the scene over a decade ago. Muniz, whose roots stretch back to Brazil, released her debut ’Made In Vienna’ last year, bringing together a wide array of global talents.
This year she remixed DJ Hell on Gigolo (to be released soon), produced a track for english electropop singer-songwriter Little Boots, contributed a mix for Paul Simons legendary Graceland album from 1986 (inspired by his recordings in South Africa collaborating with African artists) and has an EP on american label Culprit coming.
On her new single ’Mushroom Disco’ for Exploited, Joyce is going all electro disco! Guess what!

The metaphor of life as a journey is deeply embedded in most cultures. But it’s
particularly apt for Joyce Muniz. Born in Brazil, she moved to Vienna in her teens and now
splits her time between there, where she has her studio and a show on national radio station
FM4, and Berlin. She started her career as a DJ and MC at Vienna’s Flex club, then found
fame as a vocalist, touring alongside Major Lazer, before dedicating herself to
production, supported by labels such as Exploited, Get Physical, Kompakt, Permanent
Vacation, International DJ Gigolo and Pets. Most recently, she took her music on theroad,
performing live with different orchestras across Germany as part of the Synth
Live project, the first woman to join them. All this is alongside continual DJing,
recently touring Australia to tick off playing every continent – bar the
less-than-club-friendly Antarctica.
In 2023, her second album ‘Zeitkapsel’, German for time capsule, retraced many of the steps
she’s taken, while also launching her Joyce Muniz Music imprint. ‘Never Brushing
The Sound’, featuring British MC Le3 bLACK. echoed the trip-hop and downtempo
that surrounded her in late ‘90s Vienna. The d&b of ‘Bangalore Girl’, supported by DJ
Marky, recalled the music she first MCed over. And ‘Imagine’, fronted by iconic
vocalist Roland Clark, reflected the deep love of house that inspired her to make
music. The biggest hit, however, was ‘Arrivederci Bella’. A jacking love letter to
electro house, but also a break-up track, it featured Muniz rapping in Portuguese, the
first time she’d used her own voice since her baile-funk-inspired outings in the mid
2000s.
The album’s cover, part surrealist painting, part visionary experience, reflects an
accompanying spiritual path. Diagnosed with cancer in her early 30s, Joyce returned
to Brazil and her experiences with plant medicines reconnected her to her
grandfather’s shamanism. This rebirth reconfigured her attitude to creativity and life.
When Covid hit she explored the breadth of her music making – resulting in
‘Zeitkapsel’ - and sharpened the technical skills that make her a go-to workshop host
for Native Instruments. She also completed a Bachelor's Degree in radio presenting.
These avenues mean Joyce can roam where she chooses. Remixing Chicks On
Speed and collaborating with the UK’s Detachments, she’s re-exploring the electro
roots that brought her to the attention of DJ Hell many years ago, now a mentor. But
with the on-going support of Âme, Dixon, Claptone and Green Velvet and more, as
well as thousands of Shazams each week, she continues to explore sounds,
collaborating with artists across the world.
Last year, Joyce Muniz released the infectious single ’No Haters’ on Permanent Vacation
with fellow Brazilian Producer Renato Cohen. This was followed by the huge ‘Beats & Lines’,
with Sara Bluma on Kompakt (Joyce Muniz’s debut Kompakt release), which spent several
weeks at No.1 in Beatport’s Indie Dance Chart and was supported internationally by many
major DJs.
Joyce Muniz will release the Afro electro single ‘Mo Dupe' on Exploited in April 2025. She
will return to Kompakt in June 2025.
Alongside weekly gigs in Europe and frequent visits to America, Joyce often returns
to play Brazil. This was rewarded with the cover feature of her proud nation's
Mixmag. Winning new fans each visit to her birth country of over 200 million, there’sno doubt
she has plenty more road to travel.
