Hi my name is JP van Vuuren.
And this is my story…

I’m from South Africa, born in the year 1988 in the Free State, Bloemfontein.
At the age of 6 years old my mom and dad bought me my first piano, a baby grand. This is where it all began. Coming from a small family with a large musical history, I soon started to explore in different harmonies, opening a new world to me.
At the age of 12 years old my dad and I recorded our first seven songs on an old Pioneer tape recorder. At this stage harmonizing was my passion, and I was chosen along other students to sing 18 songs in our local school play “Liefde is om wip-plank te ry”
As a hobby I began singing in the school choir, having the privileges to compete in a choir competition in the year 2000 and on this occasion being part of a life choir cd recording with guest Artists Manuel Escorcio and Janita Claassen, at the Vereeniging Stadsschouwburg. “ ‘n Fees van Musiek…2000”
Then High school came…
I was spotted by a local Youth Pastor and soon started playing keyboard and singing with them. I had the privileges to travel with the church band to many venues, playing music and doing a Pre-Show on stage for our local High school Show/ Flee Market.
I began to explore in other church bands, helping with fund raising and teaching them what I have learned along the way, because I believe that giving something that money can’t buy is a Blessing!
While getting older I always believed that there must be more out there than I have already achieved, and at this stage I was approached by a man who then asked me to join a four-part harmony male vocal group. I really loved this group. Traveling all over South Africa, we took every opportunity possible to sing and preform everywhere. Having awesome practise sessions, photoshoots and radio interviews.
In 2014, some friends, my dad and I decided to start doing gigs. We sang literally everywhere from pubs, airport café’s, country markets and various birthday parties.
But still I believe that there must be more to this…
