I recorded my first track over 13 years ago, back then things were much simpler, a few compliments later and I felt like we were going straight to the top but then real life kicked in and the momentum stopped. On numerous occasions I tried to get back into it, I could probably release 4 or 5 mixtapes with the tracks I made and just threw away. The truth of the matter is that I procrastinated, I lost belief in my ability, I let life get to me and my creative spirit was locked away, I even tried alternative paths like writing articles and doing spoken word but it just didn't feel the same, I didn't feel at home.

At 23 years of age I was working in an office, this wasn't the dream and this wasn't me but I was good at my job and it paid the bills, I became depressed because I had no real satisfaction, I was working towards another man's goal, I kept telling people that I was working on new projects knowing I wasn't working on anything, I guess I needed to still feel like an artist, everytime I heard a nice beat my instinct would be to flow over it and then spend hours looking for the instrumental just to find it and do nothing, I thought I'd never make it.

Fast forward 2 and a half years and I decided to take the risk, do what I love, the momentum gradually came back, I went from writing a track every couple months to writing 7 in a week, I locked myself in the studio and told my story. I always threw away tracks because I felt people wouldn't like them but now I don't care, this is my story and at least 1 person in this world NEEDS to hear it, this is the only way I know how to tell it, so you don't have to like it but I ask that you give me a chance. This is much more than just another mixtape, this is the first installment of my life's work, this is important people around me falling sick, this is my mum's hustle, this is my father leaving us, this is the struggles of my brothers, this is taking my sisters for granted, this is growing up struggling, this is insecurities with my colour and size, this is making right and wrong decisions, this is breaking up with people I still love, this is Deeper Insight.
