A dear friend of many, Howard Turner passed in September of 2022.

Some years ago at an open mic at the Townhouse, someone recorded an impromptu performance of Howard and myself doing "Purple Rain." Upon rediscovering this track, I wanted to pay tribute to my dear friend by recording the full score around his angelic melody. 

Any friends or family of Howard who come across this track, please share so we may all hear his beautiful voice again.

This is my first track I've recorded with my new system and recording software, my first home studio in a decade!
I'm paying homage to the Doc Watson classic and Trey Hensley, who I am making it very known that I stole from his amazingness to help finish the solo on this. He himself told me he spent his youth stealing from Tony Rice (who I also took a few licks from on this here track) and others, in fact, he advised me that was the best way to get my Bluegrass down, so I thought I'd return the favour.
