Six Questions With 610

On Election Day the KONA news staff provided six hours of election coverage.  In the time leading up to the release of results, we produced and aired a series of features on local politics.  Here are three of those features.

Election 2014

Ed Dawson and Jeff Pohjola host NewsRadio 610 KONA's flagship broadcast.  This newscast, from August 12th, 2014, features breaking news of a severe thunderstorm, live reports from scenes of damage, interviews with local authorities, as well as a separate developing story about a triple-homicide.  News, sports, business news, weather, and traffic are all included.

Odd Write-In Candidates

Over the course of 2014 more than 50 workers at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation were exposed to unknown toxic vapors that were belching out of underground storage tanks that contain highly radioactive waste leftover from the production of nuclear weapons.  Our coverage included reports of the exposures, interviews with scientists that were investigating the problem, and a one-hour special in which we talked with a number of the sickened workers.
