Fantasy Variations on a Wooden Peg
The creation of this work was drawn from composer's memory of childhood. When he was a child, while he was crying, suffering, or in a restless state, his mother would turn the wooden pegs(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DHiu2gUKPZE8e-ree2Jg-02NfoqmVOyQ/view?usp=sharing) on the bed to create some sounds to attract his attention to let him calm down! The main function of wooden pegs installed on bed is to hang the clothes while sleeping. But if you use different strength to poke it or turn it in , it can make interesting sounds like birds chirping, doors squeezing, or even piercing screams. 
Based on this bedside memory, the composer recorded the sound of wooden peg on the 60-years old ancient bed. Just like his mother, he improvised on this installation, trying to create various possible sounds, even a sound art piece. Those recorded sonic clips were then manipulated through the technique similar to “developing variation” to work out all the possibilities of transformation of the material.The processed sounds were then “organized”(in E. Varèse’s word) or “digital micro-montaged”(in H. Vaggione’s word) to build up a musical composition with artistic interests which may bring endless and fantastic imagination to the listener.  
Fantasy Variations on a Wooden Peg was created and finished at the Sound Lab at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University(NYCU) in Taiwan on October of 2024.

Magma for violin and electronics uses as basis several resonances between the violin and the electronic sounds. The color of the violin timbre is changed, transformed and expanded by the electronics, enlarging the instrument sound into a surrounding mass, constantly changing. The volcanic magma also transforms over time going through shades of red, yellow, grey, until it reaches black, always in a constant tension and plastic mutation. Even when it has solidified and its surface seems to be stable, the inside of it is still boiling and filled with the agitation of the elements that constitute it. This work was commissioned by Festival Dias de Música Eletroacústica and by Seia Conservatory (Portugal) and received the First Prize at Counterpoint Composition Competition.
