The first of a set of year-specific goa-trance mixes I made back in 2004. The series was intended to show off what I thought of as the best tracks released from each year, however the first in the series had tracks that were released earlier than 2004, e.g the opening track by astrix was released in 2002; I fell out of love with trance in the late 90s as the first wave of psychedelic trance didn't really do it for me, but it started to fall out of favour again in the early 2000s and this mix seemed like a good way to catch up.

Goa and psychedelic trance oldskool and nu cool mixes for days!

English hobbyist DJ and psytrance producer, his head in the clouds and his ears in the psychedelic back allies of the past. Decades ago jrb deejayed with tactile formats - vinyl, CD, mixing desks, now it's all done in software. Not live, non-destructive, remastered and spliced to high heaven. Earlier still jrb made music with the primitive fasttracker2 software music software for the PC, and ran music groups OnyxTrance (nxt), Blackhole (bh) as well as releasing for other internet module labels, such as Chill, Twist, and LoK. In between he released a few bootlegs (mixing vocals from one track with the backing from another track, with often hilarious results).
