Big Mountain, America’s Premier Reggae band, have been very busy this past year traveling the world over and sharing their music with everyone.  In 1994 their hit version of  “Baby I Love Your Way”, helped propel them into the global arena. 
Their combined sales of there singles and albums Wake Up containing the hit “Touch My Light”, their Unity album containing the hit singles “Baby I Love Your Way”, “I Would Find A Way” and “Sweet Sensual Love” and  the Resistance  album  with the hit “Get Together”,  have sold over 35 million units.  It is expected that the bands latest album Perfect Summer and current single “Here Comes The Sun” distributed by VPAL Music, will continue Big Mountain to reach new heights.  
Along with Big Mountain ‘s great success with over 600,000 streams per month on Spotify,  Big Mountain’s mega hit “Baby I Love Your Way”, which was originally released in spring of 1994, has remained for over 20 years as one of the most played songs on FM radio worldwide.  Now with their new album distributed by VPAL Music, Big Mountain is embarking on a extended world tour to support the release of their new single “Here Comes The Sun” written by George Harrison of The Beatles.
The makeup of the band is as diverse as its music.  The name Big Mountain comes from the Big Mountain Hopi and Navajo Indian Reservation in Northeastern Arizona, United States.  The dynamic lead singer Quino (pronounced Keno) changed the name of the band from Shiloh to Big Mountain because Don Henley of the Eagles owned the Trademark to the name Shiloh.  When deciding on a new name for the band, Quino wanted to bring attention to the struggle that the Hopi and Navajo tribes were facing as the Peabody Mining Company of England, lobbied in Washington to have the treaty broken so that the mining company could strip mine coal from the ground these tribes lived on. 
 Coming from Mexican/ Irish decent and raised in a Afro American and Mexican family, Quino is politically conscious and writes lyrics about racial healing, love and peace. Being fluent in Spanish as he is in English, he incorporates Spanish into the band’s live performances and records in both English and in Spanish.  Other band members include Michael Hyde on keyboards (formerly of the Ziggy Marley band),  Paul Kastick from Montego Bay Jamaica on drums, Danny Lopilato on guitar & lead vocal and Mike Ortiz on bass from Southern California.   
Big Mountain is fortunate to have “Baby I Love Your Way” as a crowd pleaser and one of the biggest hit songs of all time. After taking 10 years off of recording with major labels, Big Mountain is back with VPAL Music  to give the world great music.
