This track is from the second incarnation of Nintendium-118, a collaborative chiptune compo hosted by the PSG Cabal themed around the elements. Each entrant was randomly assigned an element from the periodic table, and had to create a chiptune track based around it. This year's release features a healthy mixture of newcomers and alumni from Volume 1, leading to a compo that is familiar, yet also refreshingly novel.

"I wanted to play into the rougher, more coarse aspects of my material; pure tungsten is jagged, rugged and very rough to look at. On these criteria, I ended up creating a (post-processed) Megadrive + SNES prog metal soundscape, with some huge acoustic drums to gel it all together, and give it some clean sound amidst the girth of these two consoles' sounds. A lot of frustration with my creative rut went into this as well, so this also served as a good catharsis for me in the end."
