in the 1990's, JR was just a high school student when he formed his 1st band that plays REM / Nirvana/ Pearl Jam / New Order songs , from 1994 to 2003 Sonic Verve & Radio Freeze was a  alternative rock/grunge cover band that plays in the club circuit scene, different line up changes and musical differences forced the group to split up. since 2004 Jr was in various punk bands  but in 2012, he decided to revive JLF tribute band to pop hits  but this time as a solo singer using karaoke / sequencer   later on to be joined by a guitarist, then  going back to the original format of playing covers of REM, Pearl Jam, Green day etc. this time a full fledge R.e.m. tribute band- JR francis Lozada & Friends (JLF).
