Playing at Rainbow Serpent Festival was unbelievable. One of the most enjoyable sets I have ever played and easily the best "festival" I have ever had the honor of attending.

Thankyou so much to everyone that got up early on Saturday morning to catch my set. It meant the absolute world to me and words can't describe how much fun I had up there. <3

Special thanks go out to the whole Big Red Bus krew who were SO amazingly friendly from the minute I stepped back stage. It really helped to make the experience that much more enjoyable. And of-course a huge high-five goes out to everyone involved with Rainbow Serpent, with a special mention to Thad Lester for the booking.

A lot of sleepless hours and grumpy nights went into preparing this bad-boy - something my beautiful girlfriend felt the brunt of more than she should have. The last tune is a dedication to her for putting up with my shit in the lead-up. <3

Anyways, I really hope you can enjoy the set as much as I did playing it. Preferably on a very loud sound-system with a tasty beverage in hand ;) Peace!

🌈 Here's my set from Rainbow Serpent Festival 2017 played on the Chill Stage, Sunday afternoon from 2:30pm - 4pm.

From the bottom of my heart I'd like to throw out a huge THANK YOU to everyone that made it down to sit, sway, bop and listen. It warmed my soul seeing so many smiling faces kicking back and enjoying the music. Words honestly escaped me seeing the turnout and the amazing vibes everyone was projecting. It was an unforgettable experience that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. <3

Euclid: 
While working at Harvard in 2004, mathematical researcher Godried Toussaint made an amazing discovery. All important world music rhythms, apart from Indian music, are based off of the Euclidian algorithm. Euclidian rhythms are created using this mathematical algorithm to equidistantly divide sound and silences over a selected time. Whether intentional or not, it is a fascinating melding of math and art that seems to happen effortlessly throughout nature. For this song I used 10 unique Euclidian rhythms and tried to blend them into a seamless flowing river of percussive and tonal symmetry. 

Ascending Passage: 
This song was created on the 4 year anniversary of our trip to Egypt for the Great Convergence. The chanting samples in this song were recorded in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza. About 20 of us went into the King's Chamber around midnight. The acoustics were absolutely stunning and the reverberation of was seemingly infinite. It was almost as if the room were created for some some sort of sonic experience. We all began to ohm and harmonize for over 10 minutes. Everyone sounded so amazing. I was able to capture 2 recordings. One from the room and one from the hallway leading to the chamber, otherwise known as The Ascending Passage. It only seemed appropriate to use these recordings in a somewhat psytrance song to truly capture the intensity of this experience.
