A mixed Italian - American combo.
Founded by the duo of songwriters - producers Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi, based in Bologna, Italy.
Initially they started with guest vocalist Luther Vandross but soon after James Robinson replaced him regularly.
In the same mode, Jocelyn Brown was replaced by Deborah Cooper as a main lead vocalist.
Between 1980 - 1985 they released six albums, inspired by the glamour and hi-class image of Chic.
They spawned hits like "A Lover's Holiday", "Searching", "The Glow Of Love", "Paradise", "Change Of Heart", "The Very Best In You", "Mutual Attraction".
In 1984 they collaborated with the gold duo of producers - songwriters Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
In 2009 they made a comeback with their long lost, since 1990, album "Change Your Mind" with guest vocalists Lisa Fischer and Patrick Boothe.

We pride ourselves to have discovered and pushed a great number of talented musicians from all over the world. One of these artists is label resident all-star Medsound who returns with the thrilling Maria Estrella for their second collaboration.

The result is the epic ‘Keep It Alive EP’ a 5 track feel-good journey with highly emotional content; that grabs you from the word go, full of soul, huge synth lines and instant accessibility. The Duo deliver songs in their trademark style to please the sonic senses; variations from more up-tempo atmospheric tracks to bubbly emotional laden chill house songs, that use effects to create mind-bending moments, each time you listen to them. Medsound really managed to up the game on his latest release, after his mega album debut in August. He seems to have found the perfect partner in Maria, which is evident for everyone to hear the moment you press that play button.

This release is aimed straight at the discerning chill house/nu-disco listeners, who know quality when they hear it. With it's harmonic driven, swinging synth licks, clever programming; harmonic vocals from the amazing Maria Estrella ‘Keep It Alive’ will no doubt find it's way into the top of the playing charts. What better way to continue 2016 than with another quality NYLO release that was made in New York and Barcelona but was meant for the whole planet to enjoy! 'Keep It Alive' sees a worldwide release on October 31st, 2016!

There’s already a big buzz on this beefy, super classy disco house tune featuring the wonderful voice of Angela Johnson. "Do You Love Me" is a radical rework of an old Rod Temperton song with a big chorus hook.

This update comes complete with newly written verses and other extra vocal parts. Add into the mix live strings, brass and the authentic disco sound you've come to expect from ZR releases.

The JN Disco Blend Mix concentrates on the chorus and groove, whilst the Extended Vocal has the full song with a piano led jazzy finale. Whilst the Sunburst Keys expands the jazziness into its own SB style version.

Razor-N-Tape co-head JKriv delivered a modern disco anthem for his first outing on Z Records with the original release of ‘Vertigo’ featuring vocals from Escort’s Adeline. That was a digital only release but with the addition of two new remixes they are now available on vinyl for the first time.

Joey Negro’s Spirit of 78 remix takes inspiration from the work of Canadian disco supremo Gino Soccio. Built around a hypnotic synth pulse, adding layers of funky guitar and dubby horns. Some dramatic chord changes make the most of the tension and release between verse and chorus sections.

Yuksek is French electronic producer who has been releasing music since 2002 on labels such as Sound of Barclay, Relish, Savoir Faire, his own Partyfine imprint as well as JKriv’s Razor-N-Tape. His remix of Vertigo adds tougher drums under Adeline’s vocals, perfect for the summer.
