Chicago To Lake Forest Freestyle

Apologies for not delivering the full song but I switched mixers after hearing the first and 2nd mix from the usual guy and really, being at a loss for words as to what to say to improve the mix. So, I found a new guy and at least he made the verses sound good. I think I will shelve this one until later when I find a better mixer. The good news is that there was a mixer who described the gist of the song rather well and I would work with him except that I had already paid money to this second guy so I’ll be working with him for the Bond theme. I think the problem with the mixes I was getting is that the drums were too sharp (loud) and that was actually lessening my groove. Since my new theory is that groove is drums+interplay with another instrument (s), if you blow up the drums (which is what most of modern mixing seems to be about) you can’t hear the other instrument as much. Therefore, lessening the groove. A mixer should be able to find the balance.  Yes, that is headphone bleed you’re hearing and not purposeful psychedelia. That’s on me.
