Great Timpanis (I hope those are called timpanis) The DNB Part has a lot of energy! Great production overall!

And impressive D&B as well. Love the wide/naroow thing going on between the basses.

for some reason I really like this theme, I think it's the big drama vs the feeble voice singing,  unique.

I like this intro a lot -- very depressing.

Impressive percussive transition through here -- right into the thick of things.

To be honest, I prefer the quieter parts, but this whole thing is very well done - fun listen!

One Synth Challenge #193 - Thorn by DS Audio

For this track I used 11 instances of a wonderful synth named Thorn by Dmitry Sches (DS Audio). All modulations of the parameters have been done live by making use of aftertouch and/or the modulation wheel. So no automations other than some volume changes here and there. In a studio setting, I think this makes the music nice and organic. Of course, a DJ on stage always does this. 

The title “Anemoia” is referring to the phenomenon of feeling nostalgic to a time or place that one has not experienced before...

Anyways this is my first time entering the contest!

If I remember properly there were 53 instances of Thorn, 3 instances of OTT, 41 instances of ReaEQ, 3 instances of ReEQ, 3 instances of Event Horizon Clipper, 1 ReaLimit, 2 JS Saturation, 1 ReaXComp, 2 instances of ReaGate, 1 instance of ReaComp, and I think thats everything. I used these just to make the song feel more full and to make the instruments blend together better. I also used the stereo width slider in the reaper tracks themselves a bit. Carla is just a bridge to run Windows plugins on Linux but it doesn't change the sound other than that, there are a lot of them though.

Krit was a small boy, often feeling like he didn’t quite fit in.
Despite his achievements, there was always a quiet voice telling him, 
"You don’t belong". 
He told himself it was normal, part of growing up. But it never went away. 
Then one night, he had a dream.

🌅 Act 1: The Dream
He ran through wide, golden fields, feeling light and free. For the first time in a long time, he didn’t have to think, everything just felt right.

🌑 Act 2: The Nightmare
Suddenly, the world grew still. The fields shrank, and a shadow appeared in front of him.
"You don’t belong."
The air thickened. He couldn’t move, and the doubt that always lingered felt overwhelming.
"You are nothing."

⚔️ Act 3: The Ascent
A shift. Krit started to move. Slowly at first, then faster. The shadow loomed, but he kept going. The doubt didn’t disappear, but it no longer held him back.

🌟 Act 4: The Awakening
He pushed forward, the weight lifting with each step. The shadow faded, and with it, the doubt.
Krit didn’t stop. He had awakened, and nothing would hold him back again.

Inspired by First Knight, this track tells the story of Camelot’s rise and fall. At first, the kingdom thrives in peace and prosperity. Then, the arrival of Lancelot brings both hope and glory to Camelot, but also ignites a spark in Guinevere’s heart. Torn between duty and desire, she is consumed by guilt and despair, knowing she has given herself to Lancelot despite her promise to Arthur. As their forbidden love unfolds, tensions grow, and when Arthur discovers the truth, emotions and loyalties are tested. The music reflects both the fierce battles on the battlefield and the silent struggles within the hearts of its greatest heroes, culminating in the inevitable fall of the legendary kingdom.

A minor silliness for One Synth Challenge 193, perpetrated in Reaper using:

DS Thorn - 28 instances for 13 instruments, 6 of those percussion. 
All single layer, the difference due to voice spitting. 
light clean-up duties performed by TDR Nova.
Widening of pads by A1 Stereo Control
A minor amount of delay applied to said pads with HY-Delay 4.
A smidge of reverb on the bass by Supermassive.
Snipping of drums done by CHOP & Flux Bittersweet.
Reverberated by several Protoverb and Supermassive, 
with the assistance of HOFA Pan & Delay, TDR Nova, A1 Stereo Control & JS MIxer.
At the master level, general polishing was done by TDR Nova, A1 Stereo Control & Bittersweet.
