Halicon is the culmination of over five years of writing, recording and re-writing. It takes shape as a live techno and house set, which combines midi-controlled sequencing with truly live elements performed using drum machines and synths. After years of inspired study, travel, writing and performance, I have at last been able to blend together a series of a musical ideas that span genre and energy whilst connecting back to a common thread. The result is an entirely original performance of house & techno-influenced dance music that eschews the traditional DJ setup in favour of a mixer, midi controllers, drum machines and synths, which enhance excitement and expression. 
 
"Forward Thoughts" is the very first studio mix under the Halicon alias, created to showcase my own original songs, which make up the bulk of my live set. It intends to showcase each track individually in its "Original Mix" format as it was originally composed, rather than in the deconstructed, edited and remixed form that it finds itself in in a live set.

I wrote this in solidarity with all those in Hong Kong who are bravely, and tirelessly fighting for their freedom and future. It utilises samples from Bruce Lee interviews where he discusses his perception of self, liberty and the concept of nationality. My heart and support goes out to you all. I hope this song may inspire some of you to keep going, even when your hearts are heavy and your muscles are aching. What you are doing is of such importance not just to yourselves but to the whole world. We are watching, and we support you.
