The majority of people in the world, at one time or another, have most likely felt that
the possibility of being insane was a reality. Constantly over-stimulated, people find
themselves on prescribed drugs, taking illegal drugs or pretty much doing whatever
they can to escape and wander the fields of their mind, dancing among the dandelions.
In the eyes of many pharmaceutical companies and doctors, we are all mentally ill. The
simple necessity of us being that in an effort to support their business is evident. FIRST
HAND is a general statement on the absurdity and ironic playfulness that surrounds
the topic. I don’t know…..maybe I’m just crazy…..

Whenever we go through a traumatic experience, it takes time to heal. Before the
process of healing can begin, the damage has to be recognized and admitted within an
individual. It takes a great deal of self-awareness and desire to get to that place. Most
people are willing to sit in the dark, allowing the grave ignorance to morph and shape
their perceptions. There is always a point that kicks us one way or another. A point
that forces our decision making process. If we allow ourselves to float, being pushed by the wind or guided, like a child, we will never be ready or able to make decisions
for ourselves or about our healing. To take our own path and create our own
happiness takes a tremendous amount of confidence. That confidence must be selfaware.
REALIGNMENT is about that point of forced decision making. It’s about the
angry desire to stay ignorant and the blatant, all-too-familiar slap in the face from
reality, telling you to wake up.

Working a job sucks. It’s not like having a career. The majority of us in the United
States know what this means. We get up, get in our car, drive to work, do a bunch of
shit we don’t want to be doing, get back in our car, go home, sleep, wake up and do it
all again. This cycle goes on for days in a row, months or years in a row, depending on
your level of dedication. All of it for one thing: Money. STEERING WHEELS is merely a
reaction to the frustration of that cycle. Most of us are lucky if we take the time to clean
up after ourselves. What makes anyone think that we want to clean up after them??
Even if it is for a few dollars…..that shit’s stupid….

Everybody gains and loses friends in their lifetime. The reality is that we really only
gain them, never losing what it is that they once brought to our lives but feel an empty
space when they no longer provide that on a regular basis. We’re all lucky to know
each other and even though it hurts to lose someone in your life, time will always pass
and we have to keep moving. BSB #9 exemplifies the ability to know that even though
someone may have moved on, or left from your immediate energy sphere, that you will
be alright. It’s not always easy to recognize that right away, but time heals all wounds
and your neighbor will continue to wake up every morning, going about their routine,
in an effort to stay strong and independent.

Right and wrong are merely perceptions of the human mind, however they are perceptions that have created tremendous debate, as well as started wars and rules within society, time-and-time again, throughout history. We all do it, some consciously and some sub-consciously but regardless, we have rules for how we want others to act and get annoyed when that manner is not followed or adhered to. The funny part is, not a single one of us has any kind of right to determine what right or wrong is, when it comes down to it. We’ve been born into a long running and long morphing system that will continue to evolve (or devolve, depending on your perception) with time. Break the Rule is a song that pokes fun at the notion that you and/or I are correct in our opinions. It’s a simple message, really: rules were made to be broken.
