J’sar was born in Newport News, Virginia. Growing up in an area known for producing top-tier talent, he recalls being introduced to music by his older sister and from his grandmother’s radio. Fascinated with the art, he would record songs from the radio and write the song lyrics. J’sar began writing and recording his own lyrics on his mom’s tape recorder during his elementary school years. He developed a passion for music, that would become his outlet.

J’sar began the journey of perfecting his craft, often skipping on summer fun while working to advance his skills as he continued pursuing his dream of a career in music. Citing 2pac and Nas as early influences, J’sar is a traditional lyricist, a poetic commentator with a witty rhyme style. He speaks for the dreamer. His music often has a motivational undertone. J’sar thrives on being heard.

Outside of the studio, experiences on both sides of the tracks have molded J’sar into a voice of the people. J'sar believes artists share the duty of providing play by play for all walks of life.

He’s displayed his brand of hip-hop on various stages. His music has been featured on Nottz Raw’s Welcome Home Mixtape Series Volumes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. His music has earned favorable review from !llmind during Blapkit Submission Sundays, and also made it’s way in the studio of the Grammy winning J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League’s own sound architect Edward “UK” Nixon.
