I dedicate this release to Lakshmi ― one lovely elephant-girl who lives in Amma's ashram in Kerala, South of India. Once I saw how mahouts (keepers) were scrubbing and washing her. One of the guys was pouring water from the hose all over her head, another one was cleaning her ears, and I was standing there looking into her eyes, just being there. 

It's said the energy field of the space is defined by the energy of those who is in that space. While being taken good care of, Lakshmi radiated nothing else but joy, appreciation and pure love. One couldn't stop feeling it. 

She ended up in that ashram cage as a gift given by one wealthy Indian man to a living Indian saint. The gift was readily accepted. I can only guess how it might feel to live in a cage. Still beyond all conditions and circumstances, roles and scenarios, in that very moment Lakshmi's eyes were rolling up and she was soaking in divine bliss making kitty-like purring sounds. 

Be like Lakshmi. Bathe in divine bliss whatever happens in your life. 

Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu. 
May all beings be peaceful. 
May all beings be happy. 
May all beings be kind and free.

The ‘Bodhichitta’ is sometimes rendered as the ‘will to Enlightenment’ or the ‘heart-mind of Enlightenment’ - signifying the complete dedication of our efforts to cultivate wisdom and compassion, in line with the Buddha’s teachings, making no distinction between our own well-being and that of others. In that sense the development of Bodhichitta is a truly communal practice, and might even be said to arise on a collective basis. The mantra captures a flavor of what that might mean and the joy implied.
