| Friends and bandmates since they were 15 there’s a bond between T.M.A (AKA Steven Szpielmann and
Patrick Steppons) that means they have an intuitive understanding of one another. In the studio this has led to
the production of spellbinding collection of music, full of emotional depth and dynamic rhythms. The pair play
live organic instruments, guitars and drums, which they merge with an electronic setup to produce a warm,
human sound. This is evident across all three tracks on their latest EP for Hommage, Aitne.

Kicking off with the title track, we’re immediately confronted with the duo’s instinctive use of melody and
rhythm to cultivate the kind of atmosphere that envelops you from the off. A wistful, impish vocal clips drifts in
and out of the background occasionally, coaxing you into a trance-like state, while the beats keep your body
moving. Tension, drama and simmering emotion make this one a fantastic start to the EP.

Next up is ‘Eirene’, a more punchy cut with razor sharp snares and hats, combined with a dense low end
designed to pump the dance floor full of irresistible energy. The track’s blackened sheen is juxtaposed by the
lively breakdown, which lifts the mood and carries us into the vibrant second half.

Lastly, label owners Monkey Safari step up for a remix of ‘Aitne’. They add a dreamlike atmosphere to the cut,
increasing its emotional appeal. This is one for the lovers out there, who’ll be wrapped in each others’ arms on
the dance floor, as the romantic, thought-provoking melody sends them into the throes of ecstasy. |

Following a string of well received album remixes from Tim Green, Gui Boratto and Martin Roth, German wunderkind Ben Böhmer now offers up dreamy collaborative cut ‘Lost In Mind’ for Russian duo Volen Sentir to stamp their mark.

Lifted from his acclaimed debut LP ‘Breathing’, Ben and Malou’s ‘Lost In Mind’ receives a pair of new reworks. First up, leading with a percussive-heavy groove, Volen Sentir’s ‘Vision’ emphasises the heartfelt vocals, with hypnotic melodies and soothing pads, whilst their ‘Interpretation’ features a syncopated bass rhythm accompanied with an atmospheric string solo.

Dee Montero is no stranger to the dance music world. Cutting his teeth in Belfast, he became a resident at one of Ibiza's most popular haunts, Cafe Mambo. Today, with releases on labels form Anjunadeep to Lee Burridge's Tale & Tone, Montero is easily one of the scene's most reliable producers. On this debut outing for Dawn till Dusk, he doesn't disappoint, delivering two elegant productions that will elevate any DJ's music collection. 'Calypso' works in two ways: The drums and bass contain so much groove it's almost criminal, while the soaring strings and Caribbean keys make for an inspiring listen. On another plane, it is a soothing exercise that works it's magic subconsciously. With major keys and a sunny outlook 'Avalonia' sounds like it could've been inspired by the sunset views of Cafe Mambo. The drums feature a vintage progressive house rhythm, and the bass is deliciously lush. No doubt, a highly effective workout that will demand action on pretty much any dance floor. The 'Alternative mix' of 'Avalonia' features a funked up broken beat reminiscent of calypso drums mixed with a shade of 80's energy. Here the buoyant melody takes centre stage, working in tandem with an intermittent vocal sample that is impossible to ignore. This is the one you reach for to inject energy into your dancefloor.
