For this MusicWeeklies challenge, we composed a Christmas-themed battle song for a snow troll. As a fan of SRPGs, I wanted a steady-paced, heroic snow battle theme that could fit a Shining Force-style game. I borrowed a few riffs from Christmas songs I love, including Finnish, Ukrainian and French carols. The tune name (hopefully) translates as "Snow Troll on Christmas Morning"

I wrote this track for a Music Weeklies challenge. I've made a couple small tweaks to improve the song, adding some separation for the second sitar voice, and adding a longer fade-in so it won't be so abrupt.

@MusicWeeklies challenged us to make a song in a style we don't like. I've always been irked by new age piano--especially when someone plays it in public around the ladies, trying to impress them. Given that their songs are usually in A-minor and contain very predictable chord progressions (especially a descending chromatic), I figured it was my duty to do the same. #NotAFan

This song was created for a weekly composition challenge for @MusicWeeklies . My favorite food is (Hiroshima-style) okonomiyaki, a savory Japanese cabbage pancake with just about whatever you want to put in. Each ingredient is represented here by a different instrument, blending into a dense, flavorful mess. The best okonomiyaki I've ever had was in a small shop in Matsuyama called Papers, where the track photo was taken. #composition #challenges #music #okonomiyaki

I wrote this song for the @MusicWeeklies #Family challenge with my kids. They provided the song key, helped choose chords for the progression, and even provided the first melodic line. When it came together I realized it felt like Donkey Kong Country.
