South Rakkas 2nd Annual Remix competition.

South Rakkas Crew delivers an Electro Dancehall inspired Soca track in celebration of Toronto’s Caribana festivities. This will be their 2nd annual remix competition. The track is called Winding Rave featuring Jamaican Dancehall artist Rage.

D-Rakkas explains, “Last years competition received almost 40 remix entries for our track Bounce It. The Mad Decent team hosted and helped with the judging and we awarded German production duo Robs & Duke the crown for their face melting Moombah-core banger. It was really exciting because we got to hear so many young, talented, upcoming producers. I’ve since worked with Robs & Duke and runner up Wes de Graaf, featuring their production on subsequent SRC releases.

I can’t tell you how many times our tunes have been sampled and re-sample. We rarely put out accapellas or instrumentals so I see many producers and remixers creatively ripping split second vocals from song intros or instrumental breaks to add that extra bit of spark in there own tracks.

So attention to all remixers, this is a first for us. Not only are we doing a promotional give-away of this sure to be another classic South Rakkas Electro-Dancehall banger for a limited time, we are also issuing a remix challenge providing you some crazy-wild-raw-dutty party vocals. The song is called “Bounce It” and features an outstanding performance from a young and upcoming Dancehall artist straight outta Jamaica named Rage.

Bounce It (Vocal / Accapella) - South Rakkas Crew feat. Rage

South Rakkas Crew launches another missile that makes me want to ride the explosion and bathe in the fallout.  SRC producer, D-Rakkas, fuses Reggae Dub, Dubstep, Ska, a little Trap and Hip Hop breaks to create the deceptively hype Soundboy Dead Riddim. 

D-Rakkas & Ryoko are on some passive Soundboy killing with the lead song.  They just let the riddim ride... wait for it... then Ryoko proclaims, "The Soundboy Dead By Now," brilliant!

Jamaican Dancehall artist, Rage, appears again after his annihilating delivery on the SRC/WdG collaboration, New York!  This time he’s issuing a “Warning,” against Babylon’s persecution of the marijuana smoker.

Finally, in a rare South Rakkas move they bless us with the Riddim (Instrumental). Woo hoo!  I imagine there are going to be a lot of versions, mash-ups, and remixes on this one.

D-Rakkas continues his fervent production pace with the introduction of a female rapper out of Argentina named Catnapp. I hear he was out there touring in South America earlier this year and got an opportunity to get in the studio with several artists.

"Going to the Dancehall" is featured on an unreleased riddim called Jump Up and it makes you do exactly that. This is South Rakkas' signature Electro-Dancehall style speckled with UK Funky House, African Tribal rhythms, Tropical bass, and Spanglish lyrics. The song also features Rage "The Outragous" with a brief guest appearance infusing some more of that real Jamaican flavor.

The second song "Dynamite" features Catnapp on SRC's "Chachi Riddim" released earlier this year.

Start smiling DJs, and remixers, because this release is a remix pack, including full mix, accapellas and instrumentals of both songs.

D-Rakkas keeps the bangers flowing with this new remix pack.  Last year South Rakkas Crew teamed up with Jamaica’s own dynamic duo of Dancehall, RDX, giving us the Electro-Dancehall smash Go Hard Or Go Home, first featured on South Rakkas Gangsta Revival EP released by Mad Decent Records.

This Go Hard Or Go Home Remix pack injects 6 shots of adrenalin with the official remixes from Ackeejuice Rockers, Rell The Sound Bender, Rico Tubbs, Robs & Duke, The Elementz and Frandomeda; featuring Trap, Electro, Tropical Bass and Moombahton. In addition, invitations have been extended to all remixers and DJs with the inclusion of the original song, accapella and instrumental.
