Monstercat Mix Contest 2021 - JTILITY Submission

This is an unfinished track I produced in 2022. One day I hope to give it a proper release, but for now I'm just making this public for people to enjoy.

Achievement Unlocked WIP (2022)

I had the absolute HONOR of playing on the Tito's stage at Austin City Limits Music Festival 2019 as part of the the silent disco powered by Quiet Events! It was SUCH a wild night! The tent was packed to capacity from beginning to end, with a line stretching as far as you could see. The young crowd brought INSANE energy (as you'll hear in the background) and was game for a few stunts.

Set notes:
- Quiet Events DJs are expected to emcee and and engage with the crowd, so you'll hear me jumping on the mic a lot!
- As the green channel DJ, I was manning the EDM and Top 40 lane against blue channel's hip hop and red channel's throwbacks
- All of that adrenaline and energy onstage meant that my mixing wasn't as smooth as I would have I would have liked, but luckily that didn't deter the audience from jumping around all night long :)
- Recording starts about a quarter into my set, and had to cut the last 10 min

Live Set at the Austin City Limits Festival Silent Disco, October 13, 2019

This 10 minute mix was carefully crafted in Ableton as a submission to Monstercat's 2020 Mix Contest. 

The conditions of the contest are that you must only use songs from the Monstercat record label catalog, and you must use two of a handful of "required songs". My mix uses "It's All Over" by ShockOne, and "New World" by Hoaprox ft. Rogue. The mixes should show off Monstercat's variety while being smooth and harmonic.

I worked incredibly hard on this mix, putting in MANY late nights over 4 weeks. Super proud of how it came together; learned a ton in the process. Enjoy! 😎
