Sub-theme: Sanctified by the Voice to Become the Voice!

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There was something that was hindering Isaiah from accessing the voice of the Lord. It was his attachment to king Uzziah. There are things that need to die in your life before you can access what God has for you. There are king Uzziahs around us that we need to detach from before we can access the true authentic voice of the Lord.

According to 1 Chronicles 26, king Uzziah was one of the kings of Judah who was helped to become powerful and famous by God. He then became too prideful that he thought he can break the order of God, and he became unfaithful to God (1 Chronicles 26:16-19). 

Understand that due to Isaiah’s attachment to king Uzziah, he became married to this same spirit of unfaithfulness. This is the same spirit that hindered him from accessing the authentic, true powerful and precise voice of the Lord.

When you read Chronicles, you will see that all that the kings did in their era was recorded in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah and Israel. But in the case of Uzziah, the one who was recording the acts of Uzziah was the prophet Isaiah (2 Chronicles 26:22). 

This shows us how deeply attached the prophet Isaiah was to king Uzziah. That is why king Uzziah had to die, because prophet Isaiah was connected to the same unfaithful spirit that was on Uzziah. He was married to what was on him. And God had to break this attachment so that he can cause him to access the voice of God.

It is in the context of marriage that we can speak of faithfulness and unfaithfulness. In 1 Corinthians 7, the apostle Paul is teaching us about married life- that the one who is married lives to please the one they are married to. What we are married to, we speak for (Isaiah 6:5).

God is creator of all things and the sustainer of what He creates

It is important that believers understand that they are the source of the blessing, peace, empowerment of the nation where they are.

There are only 3 points to my sermon.

1. When we give to God his portion of our lives (tithe of time, skill, mind...) God releases the sustainance.

Malachi 3:8-12

2. The Church is a place where God prepares people who are going to be sources of sustainance for the nation.

1 Samuel 9:6-27. Saul went from being a shepherd to a statesman, a man who would fight for the nation of Israel

3. The place of sustainance is sometimes hidden from the nation who needs it.

Many people dont see the Church for what it is. This is why people go to other places to be sustained.

Scriptures: Psalm 68:7 | Exodus 12:1-14

KEY POINTS:

1. We are marching out of lockdown with God going ahead of us (Psalm 68:7)
- We do not make a move before God makes a move. God goes ahead of everything He asks of you. 
- God is not where you are now, God is waiting for you where He is calling you too.

2. We march out with marching orders! (Exodus 12:1-14)

a. God speaks to those He has placed ahead of you. 
- God’s marching orders are not for Him, they are for your benefit. If you march out without marching orders you are exposing yourself to the dangers of the road. 
- Your attitude towards God’s instructions shows us your level of commitment towards God.
- The first miracle of Jesus began by following an instruction. Jesus doesn’t work where people do not follow instructions. We need the Spirit of God to access the instructions of God. 

b. This is the new year of God! This is the first month. The calendars of men, of business, etc can fail but the calendar of God never fails. 

c. A lamb is a symbol of sacrificial commitment to God 
- You should not have expectations in God that do not match up your  commitment.
- “When I see the blood, I will pass over” means two things: 
1. God will go ahead of you (He will lead you) 
2. God will cover you
