Dang, this is a heartbreaker of a song. Really well written, gents, and James, this delivery somehow hits all the feels.

Ah this is good sh*t, here. Dandy little heartbreak song. Those last two chorus lines are the best and highest use of this prompt - clever, but rock solid and lands like a right hook.

This is beautiful James - the end of a relationship and all its melancholy; you really get it all across with emotion. Well done!

I love how you arrive at the chorus.  a lot of great lines in this as well

the repetitive rhyme scheme -it adds to the inevitability of this break up but also brings some comfort and peace. its a lovely one.

Love that little quick minor chord snuck in towards the end of the verse.

Excellent melody and chords - the way they interact is compelling, creative, and very pretty.  Also like the idea of lighting candle in pouring rain.

A week late with a song for the SAW2021 "You Could Turn Back,
But Why Would You Want To" prompt, due to a week and a half on vacation. 
Tried getting started writing the lyrics on the plane to my destination, when the pilot announced that the navigation system was not working (this was before take off, luckily). So, from the word "navigation" came the initial idea to the song.
Many, many thanks to Erin Wolf for adding her beautiful voice to the chorus!


The shell brakes open, a beak poking out
A few more tries, and soon a chick stumbles about

Maiden Voyage

My EP SUPERNOVA contains two Japanese songs, and this is one of them. I have never released a song in Japanese before, but I took the plunge and decided to release these. It's a song recorded in one take with my acoustic guitar and vocal. The tempo is middle tempo (I didn't use the metronome function so I don't know the BPM). 3m58s. The main genre is Folk.
