WHO ARE JONATHAN AND THE TAYLOR THOMASES?

Jonathan and the Taylor Thomases are a Canadian indie pop-rock band consisting of four runner-ups from the "JTTwinning" remote segment (A Jonathan Taylor Thomas look-a-like contest) at the 2002 MTV VMAs.

They all realized that in addition to sharing a passing physical resemblance to famous 90s child star Jonathan Taylor Thomas, they each had similar-sounding names and a love for music- which resulted in Jonathan Taylorgang convincing the boys to start a band from within his Uncle Moriarty's garage. By December of that year, the group's now iconic high school performance of "FRIENDLY GHOST" happened to go viral on EbaumsWorld, grabbing the attention of Jimmy Iovine- who was quick to sign the boys to a 3 album deal.

After releasing their hit debut album: J.T.T. Baby (Just the Tip, Baby) in 2003, the quartet experienced all the ups and downs of celebrityhood- ridiculous fashion, dating out of your league, losing your religion and experimenting with unsafe substances- which unfortunately led to the passing of Thomas Jason Thompson- the rapper/"funny one" who was the victim of a targeted hair gel poisoning attack in 2005. He died at 23 years old and is survived by his sister, Truffles and his father, Terrence.

The trio never quite reached the same heights as they did with Thomas involved, and after a disastrous attempt at a follow-up to "J.T.T. Baby", 2006's critically panned "Jonny Test Tube"- the group split, effectively breaching their 3 album contract and ultimately leaving their legacy tarnished. Die-hard fans have been clamoring for a reunion tour AND one last album, ever since.

Today, Timothy Taylor Jenkins, the "sensitive cute one" is the only actively working musician of the group- leading the house band at a local 3 star restaurant. Jonathan Taylorgang, the band's frontman, has settled down as a critical film studies professor at his former college, where he met his third wife.

Taylor Tyler Johnson, the "brooding bad boy", fled to South Africa after breaching his contract back in 2006 and is suspected to be living his days out in Yellowspring, Ohio. Dave Chappelle might've seen him a few times here and there.

While the group peaked the charts with that first album, their cultural impact on music seems to have faded in recent years- despite the multiple platinum singles off J.T.T. Baby. Super-fan Malkiel C. has decided to spearhead the band's revival- right down to getting their original tracks back to the masses for public consumption.
