This is a recording from December 2017 from a show I played together with Tom Allon.
Since then, many iterations of the song have presented themselves, and I am still getting to know it while learning from it. However, I feel the addition of Tom's energy to the song made this version very special <3

Who will hold my hand – when I die?

This is my most unguarded and naked truth.

Three months ago, I was sitting in the Californian mountains in a little hut thinking about and trying to confront three of my most prominent fears. 
My fear of death;
My fear of being alone;
My fear of hurting people. 
All of these are intrinsically connected, and a foundational part of why I am who I am.
As a part of my reflections I wrote this song. 

I try to speak my truth as much as I can. Sometimes it doesn’t resonate because I don’t know myself what my truth really is. Other times my sought for honesty doesn’t resonate because I soften the truth out of fear of hurting people.

This song speaks a truth that I was not yet able to articulate at the time I wrote it. 

Four days ago, I finally spoke my truth that I deep down have known for months. I have been playing this song countless times since I wrote it, but that moment in time, four days ago, was the moment it was written for. I had spoken the words that laid the foundation for this song, and this time they resonated.

I want to share this recording with whomever want to listen, for it is the most pure, perfect and true recording of this song that will ever be.
