Last year the four piece band released their debut EP on Sydney’s Plastic World, a perfectly measured mix of summery synth pop and tropical disco. It was called "Together", and it brought unity and feelings of shared happiness to nightclubs and pool parties everywhere.

"Altruisme" is their latest single, and another sure sign that Retiree are only looking out for us. The track combines vintage machine drum rhythms, new wave guitar licks, the sounds of the sea, and some haunting French vocals to create a slow funk jam. Media Blackout resident and beach house king, Medsound returns with his latest smash ‘I Am Not Afraid’ featuring the deliciously voice of the Yota who makes her debut on the label. The Barcelona born enigmatic multitalented Medsound has been a regular in many top artist playlists, constantly showcasing his huge originality and versatility without ever disappointing. Swedish born and Paris based Yota needs no further introduction, world-famous for her beautiful voice and works with the who is who of the nu disco and house scene. She has graced releases from Lifelike, Ben Macklin, Tommy’86, Marc Lower, Zoo Brazil and many more.

French master of the cool beat ‚Douze’ is another making his debut on Media Blackout with his incredible rendition of „I Am Not Afraid“. Douze's affair with sound "through heart, hands and computer tools" has led to a raft of successful releases and remixes, and this is no exception. Part deep house, part driving disco, his „Gonna Hide Dub“ mix of ‘I Am Not Afraid’ is a ode to house music that creates a mood that’s perfect for any dance-floor.

The second remix comes from none other than London based sound maestro Le Flex, who to people in the known is a true master oft he craft. He drops a stunning remix of ‘I Am Not Afraid; a modern beach house jam with all the right elements. The bouncy bass and great synth arrangements create a sexy, provocative atmosphere while Yota's voice make words settle in truly magical fashion, creating a warm felt atmosphere that creates special memories every time you listen to it.

English wunderkind LeSonic, famed for his body moving beats and immense production skills, as well as work with Dirty Vegas, Vanilla Ace and Matvey Emerson delivers a remix that dives into more upbeat territory with lots of euphoric vibes. The luscious use of the vocals, bass stabs and driving drums make for an irresistible rhythm while the clever chords round off these fantastic interpretations.

music. That‘s exactly what „Guepe Ride“ offers. 
As funky bass riffs combine with atmospheric synthesizer sounds paired with french vocals, your feet surely cannot hold still. 
Next to the magnificent original, that draws comparisons to Daft Punk on a yayo-party with Rick James, the Netherlands‘ best kept secret Skylab transform the tune into a techy House-hymn that could be your festival‘s best company. Deep basses, rolling drum patterns and the funkyness of the original. A stern test to stand still.
California‘s Disco-funkateer Dino Soccio offers with his more chilly approach a remix for the pool parties and beach siestas at Venice Beach or Downtown L.A. as well as Ibiza alike.

This transliteration was the starting point for Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux’s unique project, which, by appropriating the punk and post-punk cannon and running it through the Bossa Nova filter, reinvented the cover band genre, revealing new and brilliant talents along the way: Camille, Phoebe Killdeer (whose Fade Out Lines was remixed by The Avener,) Élodie Frégé, Mélanie Pain, Liset Alea...
The time seems right to write a new chapter in the Nouvelle Vague saga: with a new album “I Could Be Happy”. Athol Brose is the first EP of the band and its coterie of female vocalists. Nouvelle Vague and Friends is thus more of a nexus of forthcoming projects: a new album comprised of punk and post punk standards imbued with the inimitable Nouvelle Vague touch. Reworked versions of Nouvelle Vague classics, recorded with traditional live musicians along the way during the last few years’ Starwood/le Méridien Hotel like Ever Fallen in Love with Indian instruments and for the first time, a remix by Dream Koala and a number of other surprises!
