KUSHAN KHAN (FRAKTALLITE! / NoMind)


Este amante de los sonidos comenzó su andadura bajo el seudónimo de Black Axis hace ya un par de décadas. En principio, bajo este nombre, se decantó por el techno principalmente, y más concretamente por el techno oscuro de calidad, esquivo y difícil de conseguir con sus tintes de hard techno pero sin caer en la monotonía del bombo reinante y siempre queriendo transmitir lo que tenía dentro a la pista de baile a través de temas con alma propia. 

Bajo este nombre también hacía aparte sets de electro, de breaks y de minimal, entre otros, buscando esos temas y vinilos especiales, para lo cual estuvo viajando por diversas mecas electrónicas empapándose de las más variadas tendencias.

Así, estuvo mezclando en diversas salas de la península, aunque nunca se preocupó demasiado o nada por prodigarse comercialmente. Más tarde, perteneció en esta primera etapa también al Colectivo Mule, junto con Ariz a.k.a. A Professor y Paula Cazenave, entre otros.

Desde entonces, ha seguido buscando nuevos sonidos y la apertura de miras le ha hecho abrazar todo tipo de tendencias.

Hace unos años ya, su evolución en la mezcla le ha llevado a su nuevo alias, KUSHAN KHAN, toda una declaración de principios y mediante el cual desarrolla un estilo muy personal abogando por el eclecticismo.

Bajo este nuevo alias, lo más reciente en su trayectoria ha venido de la mano de FRAKTALLITE! desde mayo de 2015, iniciativa muy especial y auténtica junto con sus amigos de Cybertech, dando lugar a eventos electrónicos underground de lo más innovadores en la escena actual y trayendo hasta la fecha a artistas de renombre internacional como UMWELT, DEZ WILLIAMS, 214 e IDENTIFIED PATIENT, o figuras nacionales de la talla de ARCANOID a.k.a. DJ MUERTO, DIFFUSE ARC o UNIVAC entre otros y con quienes también ha compartido cabina. 

Asimismo, desde FRAKTALLITE! se han establecido colaboraciones muy especiales con proyectos musicales como FANZINE a nivel nacional, o la promotora y discográfica berlinesa MECHATRONICA a nivel internacional.

Paralelamente a su faceta como mezclador, Kushan Khan también intenta encontrar tiempo para el estudio en su faceta como productor, que tiempo atrás tuvo que dejar por diversas circunstancias, y poder trabajar así con su proyecto sonoro, NoMind, aparte y bajo el cual también pretende empezar una serie de podcasts de mezclas con el mismo nombre.

Desde hace tiempo ya, pero sobre todo durante los dos últimos años, anda también inmerso en el pabe SkateSónico de Vitoria-Gasteiz, donde está volcado en crear un espacio underground donde, al menos unas pocas veces al año, FRAKTALLITE! pueda dar cabida a propuestas electrónicas interesantes y novedosas, y en el cual los artistas realmente se sientan libres de expresarse como gusten a través de la música. 

Como mezclador, Kushan Khan prefiere no encasillarse en ningún estilo concreto para sus sets, buscando aunar todo su bagaje eléctronico y musical en los mismos. Lo que es seguro es que sus sesiones no suelen dejar indiferente.

Everybody knows me as a passionate vinyls collector, my collection mostly includes Electro, Techno, Ambient, IDM, Experimental, House, Industrial and New Beat music.

I started my DJ carreer in 1998 with Techno style highly influenced by Jeff Mills, Detroit Techno music and Birmingham sounds (Surgeon, Regis, Ruskin…). In my early years as DJ I was also influenced by New Beat and Industrial EBM sounds as FRONT242, SA 42, Nitzer ebb and KRATWERK. Simultaneously I started my vinyl collection and created a music association called AREA EBM as it was our main style.

I began performing at local clubs and free parties in the earlies 2000. In 2002, I took the opportunity to play in a mythical Madrid club (SPECKA),  Rosy, the club owner known me as Dave, so I decided to be known as DJ DAVE as tribute, which evolved to DJ DAVE AKA ILLUMINATAE. During the next years I DJ at many Madrid clubs: Elanuet Bar, Groove, La Riviera… and also on a club located at the outskirts of Madrid (SALA EVENT) where I shared night with artists as DJ MUERTO (ARCANOID) and DJ PEPO.

Since 2015 I decided to leave the night life and focused my career in local radio shows and electro private parties.

I am currently presenting my new aKa 3KAL DROID MODUL3, specially focused on experimental and electro music. My current influence artists are Gerald Donald (including his main alias: Dopplereffekt, Arpanet, Project STS-31), Drexciya, Carl. A Finlow,  Aphex, Arcanoid,

Welcome to the 317th Chapter of the Deep Electronics serie. A weekly released serie that brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This week Locomotivo returns with a brand set with a touch  into house music.

Bio:
Born in Croatia in 1990, Anthony Locomotivo entered the world 
of DJ-ing with 17 years, playing at local events.
In 2009. he moved to Zagreb and started his own program 
that shook the city for a years, and that placed him among 
the influential names of the Croatia underground scene.
In that time he started to produce music under alias Yoga Masters.
To date, he has hundreds of public performances and collaborations 
with artists from globe, participated in various art projects, 
festivals, collaborated with writers, hip-hop artists,
fashion designers, in both, production and DJing.
Now again, his current creative residence is the Neretva Valley, 
the best party place in Croatia, in 2020. according audiences votes, 
where he, with other fellow artists, is working on resuscitation of the 
valley and the existence of the intangible.
