The fourth Applied Magic release comes courtesy of Komenda, two alluring Süßboys from the flatlands of the North German Plain.

All tracks are unique in their own little way, just like the minds that created them. A manifestation of the idea that art must constantly move forward, that there are still new ideas and uncharted territories out there. You just have to seek them out.

Tunno could be best described as the sound of a dying dial-up modem, sending stuttering morse code to the depths of interplanetary space. Reminiscent of 90s bleep sound, warped and filtered through a prism of contemporary, cutting edge dance music.Guaranteed goosebump material!

356 really has its own pulse. 5 to the floor, straight yet broken, an everchanging, perpetually repeating mantra that just sticks in your head and never leaves you again. An unlikely earworm if you just let it catch you.

French hypertalent INVŌKER's remix for Tunno takes the original and wraps it up in a warm and cozy blanket. Classic Detroit pads meet a colorful, almost Balearic sound design with the monochromatic, angular original melody still shining through, transporting it from outer space to outside - somewhere near the beach.

The whole package is topped off with an artwork by David Kochs, who is not only a singular producer and DJ but obviously a really good designer as well.

Having released the highly acclaimed Rivers/Tokyo ASMR on Crosstown Rebels last year, Berlin’s Emanuel Satie returns to the label this March with the powerful Personal Liberation EP, showcasing the deep and emotive characteristics that Emanuel brings to his accomplished productions. Tribal-esque percussion leads the way in title track "Personal Liberation", progressing with haunting synths, dramatic keys and a hypnotising vocal. A track that subtly builds throughout, "Keys to Jupiter" is a moody yet blissful cut of electronic excellence, enhanced with divine piano keys. Riding a remarkable wave of global acclaim off the back of his recent Cercle performance from Jaisalmer Fort in Rajasthan, India, internationally celebrated German artist Innellea now looks to continue his stellar run of 2021 form as he unveils his next majestic musical opus, It’s Us.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, April 16, this breathtakingly original three-part offering is everything we’ve come to expect and more from the in-form producer, who arrives armed with a career catalogue of critically acclaimed releases on the likes of Afterlife, Innervisions, Diynamic and TAU, to name a few.

Inaugurating the package with the entrancing title track It’s Us, Innellea makes his intentions known the off, delivering a sophisticated blend of expansive synth leads, intricate polyrhythms and intermittent vocal drops, all brought together underneath a veil of deep, luscious sub-bass. Dropped as the sensational closer from his aforementioned live performance in Rajasthan back in March, this delectable slice of captivating breakbeat euphoria exudes attitude and raw emotion across its duration and speaks volumes of a producer at the very top of his game.

Offering another nod to the stunning locale of his recent Cercle collaboration, Innellea’s second offering, Golden Fort, sees the German producer return to his four-to-the-floor roots for the middle order of the EP, as he delivers a haunting house cut, tempered by evocative melodies and cinematic analogue experimentation. Exploring an altogether different timbre to the warm broken beats and ecstatic peaks of his blockbuster opener, Innellea’s imagination and creative flair continue to shine through for all to enjoy.

Extending the sub-continental motif across the entirety of the package, the EP is brought to a close with the exquisite finale, Haveli. An ethereal six-and-a-half minute anthem replete with hypnotic vocal soundscapes, organic percussion and frenetic, undulating riffs, Innellea’s nuanced treatment of dissonance and abstract textures converge in perfect accord to conclude yet another extraordinary release from the Munich-based prodigy.

Taking the scene by storm in 2019, leaving a dusty cloud in his wake, Innellea was initially a secret weapon for some of the techno scene’s leading DJs, before his music was officially released on the likes of Afterlife, Innervisions and Diynamic. From then on, Innellea’s colourful and intricate rhythms have captivated crowds worldwide, with tracks like Vigilans, Forced to Bend and The World Returns providing perfect examples of the bold musical statements that define his project. 

From the success of these releases soon came a slew of captivating live sets and a wealth of unreleased tracks, amalgamating to create considerable global hype around his name. Fast-forward to 2021 and Innellea continues to rewrite the rulebook with each release and live performance. Electronic duo MATHAME are to kick off a four part remix release with their own unique take on 'Breath' by Italian pianist and composer Alessandro Martire. The dreamy and descriptive atmospheres of the original tracks receive new lifeblood from these remixers who all transform the sounds. In Mathame's more electronic remix, Martire's melodies sometimes remain recognisable, other times they blend into the visionary operations of the DJs. 

Say the pair, "We put our emotional touch to the original record transferring the feeling it gave us from the first listen. An almost ethereal emotion but with movement and groove, we had this image: how to stand in front of luminous cables of some kind of material that stretch and relax and vibrate together, almost breathing, like a body."

Release Info: 
STRIDE keeps on leading from the front with label boss and house tastemaker Rony Seikaly back with another huge new single. This one comes with on point remixes from fellow mainstays Bedouin and Audiojack.

Seikaly's Mila is a fresh, kicking house tune with bubbling beats and elastic bass. The chords are warm, the drums makes you move and the whole thing is finished off with a spine tingling male vocal that brings the emotion. Add in cosmic keys and you have a real winner.

Bedouin is a Brooklyn-based production and DJ partnership between nomads Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki who are creating their own idiosyncratic spell of melodies and rhythms. They have released on the likes of Crosstown Rebels, All Day I Dream and more and here serve up a super remix. It is another one of their famously deep and smoky basement rollers that is designed for pure heady getaways, filled with subtle synths and dreamy pads that are lush and majestic.

Last of all, Audiojack offer a nice dreamy late night vibe with gentled chords and wispy pads all getting you into a romantic mood.

These are three more killers from this vital label.

Time to welcome the return of Echonomist to TAU, as the prolific Greek producer comes through with a four track selection from his audio lab. Echonomist exudes versatility, with a discography that includes a wide range of styles, demonstrating his ability to explore different genres with confidence and flair. His last appearance on TAU was a collab with the label heads Adana Twins which hit No.1 in the Beatport Indie Dance chart. He’s also recently been releasing with Innervisions, as well as Kompakt. Echonomist has honed his sound, striking a delicate balance between emotion and rhythm, injecting authentic feeling into unadulterated dance floor moments...

 ‘Pothos’ (featuring Mr. Lookman on the guitar), another cut that merges a live band feel with electronic influences. The extended intro feels like a live on stage jam with guitarists and drummers hyping up the crowd. At just over 2 minutes 30, Echonomist introduces vintage synths, which take us back in time a few decades. 'A year after ‘The First Milestone’ we can say that Infinite Depth reached its second milestone. Around this milestone a 10-track strong VA is compiled. On this VA there are some of the label’s familiar faces like His. Creator, U S H N U, Klankveld, Alberth and Symmetric. Besides, we are having back Convolute, Altman and bastinov from earlier remix duties. Also, Infinite Depth is welcoming two new talents, Final Request and Dario Gismondi. 

The sixth of the VA track is the one by bastinov, called ‘Transition’ and is belonging to the brighter and emotional side of the VA. The track got directed by dramatic female vocals, which are perfectly in play together with the bright lead synths.'

With his nothing short of outstanding Force EP on Compost Records, prodigious Laolu pushes his boundaries even further and provides us with a refreshing and yet poignant travel through his vision of afro inspired house music. In addition to this musical marvel comes a long-awaited vinyl exclusive Laolu Remix of Sophie Hungers There Is Still Pain Left, one that will be remembered. It received heavy support already by the likes of Solomun, Marcus Worgull, Trikk and Eagles & Butterflies!

Released on Innervisions at the end of 2015, Laolu's remix of Dele Sosimi's 'Too Much Information' has been a number one hit and Dixon and Ame's favourite track of the year. Laolu was born out of the love of a Nigerian father and a Swiss mother who, most appropriately, met in a record store in Berlin. He spent his first years in Nigeria where his parents owned "The Gallery", a club dedicated to Jazz and Soul. And so his musical education began. After relocating to France, he attended a music school in order to learn saxophone and music theory, but upon discovering Detroit techno pioneers Derrick May and Carl Craig at the age of 18, he sold his saxophone to buy his first drum machine.

He then moved to Geneva where he started DJing and met Kadebostan, who quickly became a musical co-conspirator in the studio and as a DJ partner. In 2010, Laolu released his first EP "O Fantasma" on the young Berlin based label Clap Your Hands. A deep tune for special club moments. During the following years, his collaborations and solo work have led him to produce music for labels including Innervisions, Defected, Compost Records, Get Physical, Weapons, Freude Am Tanzen, Clap Your Hands, Mental Groove, Jalapeno Records and Soundway Records. He kicked off 2014 writing and producing Sene Kela for Mr Raoul Ks new album, which gathered love and support from Dixon, Mano Le Tough and more.

As a DJ, he has built a solid reputation in his hometown of Geneva, but also played across Europe in Berlin, Paris , Krakow and Tbilisi. Ruff techno, heart warming house, his style both sophisticated and raw at once allows him to swing moods and match the feverish atmosphere of any club.

Force EP

PREMIERE : Laolu - Force (Original Mix) [Compost Records]

The Argentinian MUNSE (@munse_ofc) is the artist who brings you the 15th EP of Infinite Depth. He provided three very interesting originals of which one collaboration with another Argentinian talent, called Stjepanek (@stjepanek). Two of the originals got remixed by respectively the Belgian duo Senses of Mind (@sensesofmind) and the French Aalson (@aalsonmsc). 

The first tracks is called ‘Dawn’. A perfect intro track which starts of with a lot of exciting percussion. The tension through the whole track keeps expanding towards a certain unexpected point at the end of the track, through which all melodies heard before get new dimension. 

The duo Senses of Mind took their view on ‘Dawn’ and stripped the track down. Around some more atmospheric elements of the original they built up the track again, using their own signature sounds. This all together resulted a pretty minimalistic and sophisticated remix.

The title track of the EP, called ‘Alma’, is a real journey through space. Starting of with the key elements of the track, which overflow in a friendly and peaceful melody. After this, it comes to the key moment, which could be seen as a real intensification. A moment which will bring you to higher atmospheres for sure. After this intense part, the track nicely falls down into the peaceful melody again to bring this journey to an end.

The collaboration between MUNSE and Stjepanek, called ‘Serentiy’, is a masterpiece full of surprises. Already at the beginning the tension is very high, which makes you wonder what will be the next unexpected moment. Constantly melodies of which you couldn’t think of are generated and are combined with a certain groove flowing through the whole track. A track you can’t get enough of, but unfortunately every track has an finish.

Aalson gave ‘Serenity’ a whole new meaning through his remix. In the beginning it looks like the remix is built on the lead melody of the original, but in the break a new signature melody gets introduced. This signature part gives the track an extra layer of euphory and brings the full EP to a nice and satisfying end.

Atlant's relentless quest for emerging electronic talent sees us traverse the northern Swiss Plateau to Zürich for the rich innovative sounds of Soma Soul. To make this release something truly special we also summoned Afterlife mainstay / rising star Colyn and Atlant label owner BOg to each add their unique perspective to Soma Soul's two emotive originals.

Having already featured on last month's Atlant VOYAGER VA Soma Soul (Francesco Parla, Ralph Wirth) now take centre stage to build upon fine releases for Jonas Rathsman's ELEMENTS, Endangered and RADIANT. Both originals feature the beguiling vocals of the UK's Ed Begley.

The ambient intimate and unique textures of title track 'Complacency' really showcase what Soma Soul are all about. Cascading piano lines, cinematic sweeps and classy restraint really emphasise each softly sung lyric, with the sum of all parts creating wonderment and beauty.

For the remix we called on Colyn, fresh from his 'Concepts Of Love' EP for RÜFÜS DU SOL's Rose Avenue plus tracks on the mighty Afterlife UNITY and DGTL's latest VA. Colyn gives a remixing masterclass, using Ed's melancholic vocal as the foundation to craft layer upon layer of heart wrenching melodies as the pure emotion of 'Complacency' digs deep into your soul.
