Vincent & Theo (String Quartet)

This tune is popularly known in Colombia as the “Tolima’s Anthem.” Colombian-­‐born Alberto Castilla wrote it about a century ago and it is one of the best-­‐known traditional melodies of my
country. I thought I would pay a heartfelt tribute to Castilla. I re-worked the song by mixing elements from the Western European classical tradition, American jazz, and of course, its Colombian roots.
