The San Francisco Bay Area Queer Nightlife Fund, presented a special Friday night event hosted by San Francisco matriarch Juanita MORE! who also serves as a member of the SF QNF  steering committee. This was a fundraising event benefiting the Queer Nightlife Fund. Music from some of MORE!’s favorite DJs ––  Sidekick, Stanley Frank Sensation, Entree, and Rolo.

DJ Rolo Talorda

A native San Franciscan, DJ Rolo Talorda has been bringing his deep, soulful, disco house sound to the City's club scene since the early '90s. From the Sound Factory to the infamous EndUp, from Lift at DV8 to Breathe Deep at 1015 Folsom, Rolo -- whose biggest influence was his friend, legendary DJ Aaron O -- has headlined San Francisco's best and most memorable parties. After taking a brief hiatus, Rolo has recently been spotted stirring up the dancefloor at San Francisco's premiere hotspots Monarch (Mr. - The Official Pride Kickoff Moustache Party), Public Works (Fag Fridays Reunions), DNA Lounge, Powerhouse, Tank18, and my personal favorite, Booty Call at QBar in the Castro. I’m so excited to have Rolo manning the decks for his first time at my Pride extravaganza this June

Charles Hawthorne 
Hot track selection and divinatory crowd reading have made Charles Hawthorne a force behind the decks and nightlife community. Voted 48 Hills’ 2022 Best DJ in the Bay, their unique blend of disco, house, club, and RnB ushers a journey through the history and movement of Black queer dance music. Charles believes you can’t trust a DJ that doesn’t dance, and their movement, energy, and connection behind the decks are a testament to that. The proof is in the pudding, honey! 

Charles is one half of Quaint But Extra and a resident and curator for Rollin With The Homos and HomeBase: Oakland. Charles is also a drug educator, facilitator, and consultant in harm reduction.

Josh Cheon grew up in northern New Jersey, just outside New York City, where he spent his weekends dancing at goth clubs and digging for records. He moved to San Francisco in 2006 and joined the gay DJ collective Honey Soundsystem from 2007 to 2017. His love of underground ‘80s music pushed him to start Dark Entries in 2009, a record label specializing in reissuing lost music from that era and contemporary bands referencing those analog sounds.

Aaron O gave me a cassette tape in 1997 - huge thanks to Jim Hopkins for remastering it. This keeps bringing back a ton of beautiful memories of the sound of house music in San Francisco during the 90's.
