For the 100th entry in the Honcho Podcast series, we welcome @wonj!  Wonja is an Oakland, CA-based DJ, digger, and long-time music collector, originally from New England. Occasionally producing music as half of Motoko & Myers. This mix is about embracing the warm tingly feeling that only a blissed-out house jam can give you, and it’s dedicated to the idea of playing records for my friends in a small dark crowded bar.

We want to thank you all for supporting the podcast over the years, hitting 100 is an amazing milestone! We've worked with dozens of incredible artists from all around the globe, shining a light and boosting our community has truly been a pleasure. Here's to 100 more!

@mannnuuu is one fourth of the Stockholm (Sweden) based Sun Citadel Dance Club collective, (@sun-citadel) which regularly organizes parties in and around the city - from raves in the forest to events in more established venues. His dance floor sets are usually centered around house and disco in various forms, but this mix is more oriented towards listening - going from beatless melodies, through dubby downtempo, to carnivalesque broken beats.

020 - Missed Connections w/ Manú Nilsson

*recorded live in Toronto at our Off-Pride lake rave (06/25/22)

This b2b was meant to be, yet very nearly wasn’t. Sanjeet, who provided two unforgettable Best in Town performances in summer 2021, was again scheduled for peak time at our lake rave this summer. D-Grade was in Toronto for the weekend but was busy with a different gig the same night as our party. When the two ran into each other a few days before this event, they recognized each other from Sustain-Release a few years prior and lamented the scheduling overlap. Too bad. 

Then the moon had its say: Sanjeet dreamt of their b2b, D-Grade’s gig fell through, and after about an hour of prep, the two made their way to the far-out location and told us about a slight mod to the lineup. As soon as they hit the decks it was clear we were in for something special. A cohesive propulsion shone through the speakers, carrying us from the cavernous night to the first tinge of day.
