We would like to welcome Lefthook to the playground! Southern Californian DJ will be kicking of the summer season with a high energetic mix full of steady bass grooves and fun vocal chops! Representing the west coast bringing classic club beats and bangin originals! Lefthook has an inherently high musical IQ that is fully apparent in his style of production. Over the years, with the addition of a formal education in Sound Engineering and an increasingly sophisticated taste for innovative tools and techniques, the young DJ and Music Producer has chiseled a forward-thinking sound that speaks for his unique persona. His soul-infused, stripped back, timeless rhythms have found their way to international musical homes such as Fake Recordings (UK) & Honne Records (MEX). He is a core artist for Vuew Recordings and part of the chemistry of west coast vinyl-only project Muted Noise, founded by house music legend Halo Varga.

This time on the playground we welcome Ra.mod, a producer/DJ currently based out of the Sunshine state, Florida. Originally from the northeast with strong ties to his Dominican roots where he spent many summers in Santo Domingo. Ra.mod has been experimenting with dance music since 2012. Prior to his love for minimalistic grooves, his passion was Hip Hop and Latin club music. His afro-latin heritage and a curious hunger for music discovery fuels a desire to create rhythmic pieces of modern dance floor house and techno. Ra.mod is owner of Vuew Recordings along with partners Paulo and Lefthook, a vinyl only imprint based out of San Diego where he spent the last 10 years. They also collectively manage Muted Noise Recordings with H-Foundation legend, Halo Varga. His latest release can be found on OGE White (008), with another coming very soon. Keep an ear out for new music via Bandcamp where he occasionally releases edits and b-sides.

This time on the playground we welcome Konifer, Seattle/LA based Dj inspired by landscapes and movement. He began experimenting with electronic music to connect with humid narratives and interpret the world around him. This includes collecting field recordings from exploratory outings, most importantly in the Brazilian Amazon. In 2019, Konifer and longtime collaborator Kinjo launched Rhizome record label, platform for releasing both vinyl and digital music.

Rebeca Macias, better know as Rivka M, has been a key figure in the Baja California, México scene for several years - throwing events in Ensenada and Tijuana, and also dabbling into San Diego - her most recent party series & label, Who’s Who, has garnered much respect in the region.
Previous WH8’s guests include many greats: dOP, Doc Martin, Jimpster, Hoj, MANIK, Halo, Métrika, Marc Houle, Bill Patrick, Dewalta, Phil Weeks, PillowTalk, Sunshine Jones, and many more.
Aside from the parties, Rivka M has been running her other record label, Glauben Records, alongside fellow Baja Californian, Machino, since 2014; and has featured music from the likes of Butane, Jay Tripwire, Machino, and Rivka M herself.

A house music producer & DJ from San Diego, Jesusdapnk, has made a name for himself in the San Diego community and beyond, having started producing since 2006 and DJing since 2008. His productions have been featured at the top of the charts. Reviving a rare fusion vintage techno/house sound globally, his work has a sound consisting of groovy baselines, analog synths/drums and funky vocals. He has shared the stage with many artists and has played at multiple venues, from nightclubs to festivals and raves. He currently has multiple releases signed onto various labels. Jesusdapnk has also created his Deep House record label Good Luck Penny, established in 2018.

Rhythmic Classics have been the driving forces for this Southern California import from Cali, Colombia now calling Baja California Mexico his home. Paulo's vision for music is rooted in his passion to integrate cutting edge production technology with his more traditional Latin roots and other musical influences in Jazz, Blues, Soul, Disco, Hip Hop, Rock, and Funk.  Paulo’s minimalistic, raw, and forward-thinking approach to House and Techno music have laid the way for releases on Surface Recordings, Honne Music, Dubgestion, Lethal Script Label, MIU Recordings, Cubek Records, Underdub Records, and music collaborations with House music notable Brian "Halo" Varga and gifted music producer Ra.Mod as "Cess", for high regarded vinyl only imprints such as All Inn Records, FA>IE, and NG Trax.

Juanito’s Playground is an extended mix format music podcast produced by Kevin Martinez a.k.a. Lefthook. Featuring a variety of genres, Juanito gives guest DJs space to showcase the depths of their musical talent, knowledge, and influences. It’s a meeting place for these artists to communicate new ideas and share innovative creative expression. This open-minded approach encourages musicians to have fun and capture joyful moments of sonic experimentation. Juanito himself is a little West Coast OG dog and first hand vato of Lefthook.
