This week sees us hit South America again, and a brand new stop on our travels.. Colombia!! A hot bed of musical activity, it is another notch marked off our to do list, and a DJ/Artist/Producer/Remixer/Label Owner we have been after for ages. PFG give it up for Juan Pablo Torrez!

Born in Cali, now residing in Medellin, Juan Pablos love of electronic music began at a young age listening to trance, but it wasn't until he reached 18 that he took this love to the decks. With influences like Cattaneo, Howells, Sasha & Digweed, Juan developed a versatile style which allows him to surf between genres, a style he has now mastered. This style has allowed him to play in many countries, like Spain, Greece, Hungary, Argentina and the USA. 
His versatility and skill saw him hold down plenty of club residencies and perform at massive events such as Summerland Main Stage (2013/15 Cartagena), DayDreaming (2018 Hungary), Bloque (Greece 2018) and more recently both Burning Man Dusty Multiverse's (2020/2021)
Over the years Juan has shared the spotlight with many of dance musics greatest artists. Epsilon, Seaman, Olander, Tiesto, Van Buuren, Molosh, Pappa and Cid Inc amongst many others.

To date Juan has released his music on labels like The Soundgarden, JOOF, Parquet, Perspectives, BeatFreak, Particles, FSOE,(UV), & OneDotSixTwo.
 
His productions have been supported by DJs like Guy J, Paul Van Dyk, Darin Epsilon, Paul Thomas, Tony McGuinness, Nicole Moudaber, Eelke Klein. All this has led him to be one of the best selling artists on Beatport's Progressive House category in 2020, charting several times in the top 100.
‘Leda’, which was signed by The Soundgarden and reached #2 at Progressive House Hype chart on Beatport, was picked by Nick Warren as the best song of 2021. ‘Rome’ has more than 300,000 plays on Spotify!
As the label owner of Clubsonica Records, Juan has taken this imprint to become one of the major labels in Colombia, by sharing his unique vision of quality music with the rest of the world. His label has been supported by some of the greatest artists in our scene; Joris Voorn, Luciano, D-Formation, Maceo Plex, Danny Tenaglia, Edu Imbernon, Henry Saiz, Erick Morillo, Sasha, John Digweed... the list continues!

Over the years, he has shared the spotlight with many of dance music’s greatest artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Jeremy Olander, Danny Howells, Dave Seaman, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Markus Schulz, Funkagenda, Cid Inc, Darin Epsilon, Anthony Pappa, Dmitry Molosh, and countless others.

To date, Juan Pablo Torrez has released music on Parquet Recordings, Perspectives Digital, Beatfreak Recordings, Particles, Clubsonica Records, FSOE UV, onedotsixtwo, among others.
