The main guest of the upcoming PLAY. event prepared for you a taste of Saturday evening in the Bratislava club FUGA. Vertical Spectrum (https://soundcloud.com/vertical-spectrum) mixed a techno vinyl set as an invitation to his performance taking place on 28 October and you can get in the mood today with his podcast with serial number 048!

Vertical Spectrum is the latest project of the polish producer from Silesia, whose stage activity began in 2000. Over this time, his musical variations and constant passion, which he manifested under various alter egos in the past, also playing as a live act, led to create this brand. First official EP under name Vertical Spectrum was released in 2015. and after following several subsequent releases, he received an offer to record his first vinyl for the german Nachtstrom Schallplatten label, for which he released 5 vinyls so far, including 1 album. As a result was he was able to cooperate with many legendary names, crowned with remixes of top names such as Alexander Kowalski, Patrik Skoog, Abstract Division, Developer or Ben Gibson and others. Right after he received an offer to join other well known and respected brands including Dynamic Reflection, Tsunami Records, belonging to the spanish legend Christian Wunsch or Granulard Records from under the sign of 1/2 Exium duo. In 2018 he received offers to release his music on Pole Group label lead by the legendary Oscar Mulero, and as a result he appeared on Unknown Landscapes compilation, mixed by Lewis Fautzi.

His productions are undoubtedly appreciated by many great artists in the world and he is not a rare guest in the sets of such an appreciated names as: Blawan, Ben Sims, Paula Temple, Oscar Mulero, Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Headless Horseman, Marco Bailey and many others. The year 2021 was another milestone in his career, which resulted in deeper cooperation with representatives of leading techno brands in the world. As he joined: - Warm Up (Oscar Mulero) - Semantica (Svreca) - Mord (Bas Mooy) - Edit Select (Edit Select) - Faut Section (Lewis Fautzi). In 2022 he would continue collaboration with top brands and release for Mord Records or Edit Select, just to name a few. In addition to numerous performances at recognized events in his native Poland, he also had the pleasure of performing in Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Latvia, and Tresor club in Germany. Thanks to PLAY. he is now looking forward to its premiere for the Slovak audience!

For The Composers, Mike Storm, a true exponent of galactic techno, has created a timeless soundtrack of a voyage out there. This creation is inspired by the writer of worlds, Sofia Kaloterakis. In 2021 she wrote a poetry collection "Drift in Lyrics" evolving through random encounters, scenograpic memory and drifting into space/time.  

Mike Storm created a soundtrack with basic elements and sequences. in addition to these elements, Mike plays various strings, pads and piano live on top of this soundtrack. It resulted in a cosmology musical thriller, shifting perfects sound paradigms, where there are no planes or borders to infinity. Continuous and unpredictable structure arrangements. Pulsating abstracts and special sounds, and with unexpected BPM rates. The Episode is the score of an E.T. adventure, that keeps its most stellar explorers abducted until the end. 

Exclusive, 45 minutes charged of unreleased pieces. A statement of how advanced techno can be. Really, not for everyone.

Mike Storm is mainly inspired by Sci-Fi. The thinking process of his sound is created affecting emotions and leading to action. Thoughts are created and disappear like stars and planets. Building sequences and sound development become a natural process.

So his live performance is one of a kind. On stage, he’s going deeper into creating the moment.
His live sets are typically a journey through space searching for the unknown. Following beats into deep minimal sequences.

Seeing himself performing several times at the famous Tresor club in Berlin, and Awakenings Gashouder in Holland to name some.

This past decade Mike Storm has seen his music being appreciated and releasing his work on the labels of Jeff Mills (“Mike is capitalizing his career as a premier artist in the category of Science Fiction Techno”), Oscar Mulero, Ben Sims, Steve Bicknell, and DVS1 and a dozen other established labels and other well-known names on the scene.

The result is the valuable number releases and albums getting appreciated throughout the global Techno scene.

The Planetary Assault Systems project has been active for some 15 years now, channeling an exploratory theme into cutting edge, non-conformist techno for the clubs but also for listening at home.
His previous album for Ostgut Ton, “Temporary Suspension”, re- instated that classic P.A.S sound and found the dextrous artist touring even more with this tougher, purist techno aesthetic.
And yet again Slater maintains his prolific output with the announcement of “The Messenger”. In his own words it's a project that stays very true and honest to the Planetary Assault Systems goal: a journey of discovery, to create new sounds which are not otherwise present in club music at this time.
From the album's beautiful introduction track “Railer (Further Exploration)”, which floats through the bubbling ether before leading into the mysterious depths of “Beauty In The Fear”, it is clear that Slater's role as sound explorer and adventurer has been dutifully fulfilled.
With the sense of timing that can only be expected from such an experienced DJ and musician, we are led through a series of stand out tracks, where no one feels less pure, yet each has their own voice.
Indeed there's a strong club element present here - Slater play-tested all the tracks and employed a careful editing process to make sure they all fit the description. Highly playable works of club-intended sound art, early heavy moments like “Bell Blocker” or the playful “Wriss” give way to even more severe messages as “Kray Squid” pulses onto the radar with magnetic energy.
The drum barrage of “Rip The Cut” speaks directly to the dancefloor, perhaps the most rhythmically intense moment of the album, which is not to be put lightly as the rolling, filtering tones of “Cold Bolster” and “Black Tea” urge us further into perfectly frenetic moments.
