Paraninfos Celestes - Rompa la Batalla

"Beautiful night, oh night of love." is the duo that opens Act 3 of Offenbach's, Tales of Hoffmann. It is a barcarolle, which is characterized by a rhythm reminiscent of the gondolier's stroke.
In this live performance, Judith sings the role of Giulietta and Laurie Lindemeier sings the role of Nicklausse.  Both are accompanied by Kelly Schaaf on the piano and members of the Opera on Tap North Texas Chapter.

From the Zarzuela, El Barbero de Sevilla, composed by Geronimo Gimenez and Manuel Nieto.  Sung by the young diva in the second scene, the character of Elena sings about how men are in search of honey and become bees at the sight of her tempting eyes and red lips.  This aria is to be sung as her audition piece to demonstrate her vocal virtuosity.
