Mongolian Folk Tune: Durvun Tsagiin Tal – Four Seasons of the Steppe
Arranged For Brass Band by Judith Hayes, recorded live by Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band at St Mark's Church, Bilton in May 2019.
This arrangement is based on a song called Durvun Tsagiin Tal (Four Seasons of the Steppe).  If you visit Mongolia, you will hear it just about everywhere... and in many styles, from traditional ballads, easy listening and pop, to the astonishing traditional Mongolian Khöömii (or throat singing)... and you may even encounter a disco trance version. The Mongolians regard it as their National Song, celebrating the rolling grassland, or Steppe, which covers nearly the whole of this huge country.

Time after Time

Brass band arrangement by Judith Hayes of James Scott Skinner's Cradle Song, recorded live at St Margaret's Church, Crick, Northants in concert 13th May 2017 by Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band, featuring Neil Kelsall on euphonium.
The Scottish violinist, composer and dancing teacher James Scott Skinner was one of the most prolific composers of Scottish fiddle pieces in the 19th century. The Cradle Song was Skinner's most famous slow air and was inspired by the scene of a woman caring for a sick child.
This arrangement is dedicated to International Bilton Band Baby Sophie.
[The arranger apologises for the bum flugel horn note near the beginning - plainly too overcome with emotion to play properly.]

Christmas Cheer

Up on the House Top

Gesù bambino, or “The Infant Jesus” is an Italian Christmas carol composed in 1917 by Pietro Yon, an Italian-born organist and composer who made his career in the United States. The carol is one of his most famous works, and describes the night surrounding the birth of the infant Jesus. The melody was used by Frederick H. Martens in his English language carol "When Blossoms Flowered 'mid the Snows" – not a strict translation of the Italian, but in the same spirit. The melody and lyrics of the chorus are derived from "Adeste Fideles" (O Come All Ye Faithful).
Dedicated to Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band and performed live here by them at our Christmas concert December 2017.

Music for brass ensemble - winner of the Brass Band Summer School composition competition 2009. Played here live by the tutors of the Brass Band Summer School. 
The opening slow movement creates a picture of children in church before the real festivities begin with the mayhem of the second part of the piece....

Live recording of Cross Patonce by Goff Richards, made in rehearsal Saturday 10th March 2012 at the Temple Speech Room, Rugby, Bilton Silver (Rugby) Band, the day before our winning performance at the second section Midlands Regional Finals. There are obvious blips and a little untidiness, (yes we know the third movement was a bit excitable), but listen and enjoy anyway.
