MY GUESTMIX FOR NITŠEKAS ON IDA RADIO

Recorded in Kentish Town, London NW5, "Deep In NW5" tapped into the sound of London's deep house scene of the mid-late 1990s. The basic chords were written in my flat in Finsbury Park, but the entire production was done at a studio on Queen's Crescent, a not-entirely- salubrious area of Kentish Town. 

The other side, "A Question Of Logic", was written the month previously at a studio in London's Docklands. It's more techno in nature, and was influenced by chords of Derrick May and stuttered drum programming of Dave Angel.

It’s no surprise that scene heavy weights Apron & Tartelet Records have extended their hand to make Oakland based Space Ghost part of the label family, whose forward thinking production output and selection knack have made him one of the most exciting heads on the circuit. 

Prior to the pandemic, Space Ghost, also known as Sudi Wachpress could be caught spinning wax every first Friday at his monthly dance party Open Soul, located at the Bay Area in CA; we were fortunate to catch Sudi during relative downtime which resulted in him curating just over an hour of carefully considered house bliss.

Hailing from the Latgale province of Latvia, Judzhen has become one of the most sought after selectors in the capital Riga in a matter of a couple of years. Even though he's a trained accordionist Judzhen is fixed on rhythm and percussion – from his sets to his production he's full of energy and flow, be it disco influenced or jazz influenced house – you'll always find yourself bouncing shoulders back and forth to an irresistible groove. 2020 saw the naming of a formation that was already there for years – when playing together Judzhen and Elvi Soulsystems are now officially called Riga Graduate School of Love. Much like both personalities (and body heights) the music they play is as diverse as it gets – from house music classics to gems of jazz and soul and a fusion cusine of unpredictability (the bald-head with glasses) and feel-good (the tall one with the baseball cap on).
