”As soon as we heard his vocals we knew we wanted to make a song with him!”.
Thanks to the internet and Teeklef being a very professional artist “Killa Wine” was quickly created. To celebrate the release, Teeklef visited Sweden and performed live alongside Mash Up International in Stockholm. The official music video was also be shot while Teeklef was there. Coming up in the vibrant culture of Lagos, Nigeria Teeklef’s musical journey began in the church, but his voice would spread further and wider quickly, as he became increasingly intrigued by American pop music and Hip-Hop. Sneaking off to watch BET at friends’ houses wherever American tv was available, Teeklef’s musical drive and curiosity led him to become a skilled player, producer, singer and writer, ultimately winning a talent search that put him in the spotlight on Nigerian tv and radio.
Departing Lagos at 18, he moved to America and found a new home in Indiana. While attending college, Teeklef retreated to his studio every night to record, honing an Afro/R&B hybrid that embraces the sounds of the rising Afropop/Afrobeats movement and the culture of Hip-Hop. After a series of mixtapes, Teeklef unleashed his potential with the single ‘Apart’ in 2018, released by Jillionaire’s Feel Up Records. Placed on Major Lazer’s Dancehall playlist, Vevo’s new Hip Hop playlist, and featured by Ebro Darden on Beats 1 Radio, the song is a culture clash unlike anything else. With lyrics in English and Pidgin - an indigenous Nigerian dialect, and sounds that span multiple continents, Teeklef has a style that is completely his own. The following singles, ‘Day 1’ and ‘Over 100’, continued delivering the message of what’s next in this new global sound.
Teeklef is currently on his first world tour, the AfroPop Tour, performing in Costa Rica, Oslo, Stockholm, New York City & Reykjavik.

Mash Up International
The Swedish producer/DJ collective have actively made sure that people don't dance to whack shit for the past 10 years.
Always pushing the dance music they love from Jamaica, South America, and Africa. They have had hit songs with several Swedish artists already and have made several popular remixes of for example Beyonce's "Sorry" and Chronixx “They Don’t Know”.
In 2017 they stepped out onto the international arena with "Waistline Ting" featuring superstar Shenseea from Jamaica. The song quickly became a dancers tune all around the world and hundreds of dancers made videos using the hashtag #WaistlineTingChallenge.
M.U.I released the Pool Night Riddim EP in 2018 featuring artists like Nyanda (Brick & Lace), Tifa, Bay-C (T.O.K), Don Husky, Nemesis and three South Korean artists, SKULL, jeebanoff & M.TySON. The EP premiered on Red Bull radio and made waves all over the world.
With the upcoming release of “Killa Wine” feat. Teeklef they are honing in on fusing Afropop and Dancehall and Teeklef being a lover of both genres seamlessly fuses the Nigerian Pidgin with Jamaican Patois.
