Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle. Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey. 
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori, two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. The next release from Sol Selectas is from label creator Sabo, and Amine K of Morocco. The title “Tiniri” means Sahara in traditional Berber tribal language, and the song transports us straight into the red sand dunes. All the instruments and vocals were recorded in Marrakesh, while exploring the labyrinth of the Medina. The vocals were written and recorded on the spot, in Arabic, and both songs feature the traditional Moroccan instruments; the Krake, Gembri, and Dharbouka.  

The 2nd track “Amanar” is the Berber word for the star constellation Orion, and is a guiding light for wanderers crossing over to Morocco via the Gibraltar Straight. Amanar features distorted brass horns, and beautiful flamenco style guitars, representing the strong Spanish influence that exists in Morocco.

For the remix of "Tiniri" we welcome Matthias Meyer to the label, whose name needs no introduction. He strips back the song focusing on a steady driving tribal beat. The deep hypnotic groove removes the vocals, and adds more atmospheric bliss to the journey. 

The artwork form Helia Jamali features a photo taken of a street musician in Morocco,   playing the infamous Gembri and singing with pure joy,  amidst a desolate Saharan backdrop. With a henna tattoo’ed hand covering his chest, we feel the powerful emotions of art, connecting to the Sol, through his heart.
